Hi, is it quite easy?? I have read the pattern and would give it a try but not sure how well they might turn out and don't want to waste your wool at all. :o

I can't believe it. I think my whole family are falling apart physically.

Don't know if you remember me saying my Sister-in-law Susan had breast cancer? Well she had a mastectomy about a month ago, and has just learnt she has to start chemo in a couple of weeks.

My 90 year old mother has infected gall stones, and it's almost certain she is going to need surgery very soon... and I'm terrified for her!

Yesterday my 27 year old niece (Susan's daughter) was rushed to hospital, and she's got gall stones too... can you believe it? She has to see a consultant again in July and they are going to remove her gall bladder.

My brother (who shares the house with me and mam) has suspected gall stones and is waiting for scans.

Another brother who lives a few yards away is having a very risky operation on his back next week... fingers crossed because it's been cancelled twice at the last minute, so I'm praying it finally goes ahead.

And one of my two remaining sisters is going to have her little finger amputated. Several of my family have a very rare skin disorder which looks a little like warts on their hands and feet. A couple of them also have a related problem which leave constricting rings on their digits - it's like you have worn a ring way too tight, but a lot more severe. She already lost a toe to it, and now after several operations to her hands over the years is about to loose a finger. Still lucky though as one young lad (one of only about half a dozen families in the world with the condition) has a ring around his neck!

Anyway, sorry to unload. I've got flu and it just seems I hardly dare speak to another family member for fear of what's coming next

    Shelly:

My niece and her two boys are up from London for the week, and I'm trying to do two cribs for her to take back for Zaki's nursery. She's going to give one for the kids to play with and the other one will be done up with cellophane and ribbons and raffled at the summer fair. Once I've finished these I'll do a few boobs as I still have some flesh coloured wool.

    Chalky:

Loved the photos, and so glad the weather was good. The forecast is set well for this weekend so hopeful for all other weddings/events

Welcome to the newbies... You will love it here.

Must get around to posting on Wooligans now I'm a member, but as you can see I've a little on my plate at the moment.

    Pam and Kathy:

Editing message as I can't believe I forgot to say I hope your mums are both ok. It's a real worry isn't it?

LC - what a lot you have to worry about at the moment. As far as the gallstones are concerned, my sister had them and had to have her gallbladder out and she has been fine ever since. Obviously, with your Mum it's bound to be a worry but, at 90 years old, she is obviously a fighter and she'll be fine, I'm sure.

The rare skin disorder sounds terrifying - I've never heard of anything like that.

I'm sending (((hugs))) to everyone, including you, LC, because the worry must be awful. Don't forget - we're all here for you.
