Hi everyone :hello: hope you are all well.
It`s a nice sunny afternoon now after the rain this morning, but still a bit too breezy for my liking. Bit quiet here, everyone busy knitting etc or out in the garden ???

dpixie - your blanket should be fine. The animal shelters need all sizes from little puppies - to Great Danes  and everything in between.

Well, I went with DH on Friday to hear the `talk` about what will be going on when he goes in for his bypass and valve surgery, but warned the cardiac nurse that if she got too gory and gruesome she`d better have a bucket handy ;) Wasn`t too bad though. Came home last night to find himself watching that live operation on the telly - heart valve repair - waaayyy to much info for me.....especially when the saw started buzzing _pale_ I just DON`T want to think about that happening to him.

He hasn`t got a date for the op yet, and I`m having sleepless nights, hate to think what I`ll be like when the time comes - reduced to a quivering blob of jelly probably.

Off to put the kettle on and finish my second crochet blanket - really getting into this stuff, but I`ll have to try something else `cos DH thinks it`s just a flash in the pan - I`ll show him  maybe.

psso - thanks for the encouragement re the blanket - sensible advice if i say so myself.

with regards your hubby - i am sure it will all be fine, my best friends mum had the surgery about 18 months ago (she had had tonsilitis as a child and was told that this had damaged her valves). she is now up and running - literally - and can do all sorts of things that were not possible before the op. she was out of hospital very quickly and was home and recovering in no time at all.

oh well, i suppose i should go and do some "housework" or other before i sit down at 4pm for a bit of a knitathon.

    be well.

sorry ive not been about much, i'm still plodding on with my stripey jumper:o.

havent been post office yet so still have some stuff here to post:o

its 1/2 term as well and i brought loads of plants at the car boot (as well as a couple of balls of lemon wool;)) so loads to do here, i've spent the afternoon prying mirror tiles of the lounge wall so far i've managed to not break any so im quite pleased with myself -but i have had to sacrifice a length of coving as we rather foolishy put the coving over the top row of tiles:rolleyes:.not decided what colour its going to be next but one things for sure weve had our moneys worth out of those tiles they went up i '84 just after we moved in:rotfl:

have a good rest of the day all:T

PSSO - thinking about your DH. You're bound to worry but everything will be fine. As DPixie said - the results will be well worth it. All surgery sounds gory but thank goodness there are people happy to do it for us!

Just a quick head round the door and a wave  from me tonight before I start sorting the last of the stuff out....looks like wayyyyy too much ;)

Maytaurus - aww thanks your posts are always so nice,:A I'll have a look at the links next, we are looking forward to exploring over the next few days, We had our honeymoon in Torquay, at Goodrington sands in a friends caravan, we were building our own house and were part of a self-build group of 12 couples, we built on The Bournville Trust not far from Cadburys and it took every penny we could spare.....now that was a long time ago 1967....

Kathy - Its a lot for older folk when it comes to moving is'nt it? When my Mum moved to sheltered Accommodation last year (over here near me) it took her a time to get over it, but she would be the first to admit it is the best thing she has ever done, and she loves her little flat, I can go over and clean up for her in no time (not that there is ever much to do)then we sit and chat over a cuppa and a slice of her cake :D
I had some wooden needles given to me, but they were damaged on the ends and were difficult to knit with as they kept snagging the yarn. OH had a go at sanding the ends but no luck, as there was a chunk out of one, so now they are used to stir paint, very OS :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Chalky - O what lovely photos, I am not surprised he was a 'very proud Dad' your girls are beautiful, the Bride and Groom look so happy and I love your hat, how many hankies did you get through ;) the weather was kind too, just shows all the positive vibes worked :T

I have decided to take my blanket with me, along with a few balls of furry wool to knit up into scarves on the journey. I cant sit doing nothing, and I dont need to think about what I am doing knitting scarves, anyway it keeps me awake....not.....:rotfl:

    Be back Saturday I think!!!
    Be good

Have a great time, Pippa! I know Torquay well, my DH was brought up not far from there, first in Totnes, then in Buckfastleigh. It's a lovely part of the UK.

I'm so glad your Mum was happy with her move. I know mine will be; it's something she's been wanting for a long time.

I know just how you are feeling. I cant believe our special day is over and it went so fast.

I know how much the support of everybody on here meant to me last week and I almost felt there was an invisible power of good helping everything to go smoothly. When the weather was so terrible during the week before hand I kept coming on here and everybody was willing it to be sunny and IT WAS.

So now I hope the same good comes to you and I for 1 have my fingers firmly crossed for the happiest of days for you.

If I could give you 1 piece of advice is to somehow slow your mind down and take in every moment-- probably an impossibilty but try

So I hope things start to go a little more smoothly.
Try and do a good deed every day.
