    Hi Everyone
Mrs MP – sorry to hear about your eventful night – hope your boys are OK.
Elaine, hope your DH is OK. Perhaps you could glue him to a chair with a hook and some wool! Taking it steady doesn’t always come easy to people does it? Re the crochet, I was struggling in a similar way (was keeping yarn very tight so other stitches didn’t drop off so struggled to get the hook back through!) and have got the hang of holding the yarn so that I can tension it a bit as I go (prob isn’t any orthodox way of holding it) and twizzling the hook in my fingers as I pull back through. Sorry, that’s not very technical is it? I bet you can hardly tell I’m a complete novice:rotfl:
Dawn, I’ve been doing Aaron squares in double crochet to try and get more fluid with it and it really helped. I just did chain 16, then chain 2 extra for the turn and doubles all along – your first stitch in the row is your ch2 which takes the place of a double. The boobtube lady is great but I had to get my head round the terminology difference – US single is our double, I think. It kept confusing me :o
Conversion here but post 964 may have a better one

    Chalky have a lovely weekend.
Anne, where are you going for sunshine? And can you bottle some and bring it back!
Thanks for the update Jean – poor Kathy, it’s horrible relying on other people when they don’t do what they said they would – bah to France Telecom.
    Will update tomorrow.
Hope everyone is ok – Lorna and Shaz seem to be MIA.
    Take care everyone

hi all, not getting much chance on computer or knitting whilst both sons at home, roll on monday when they go back to school:rotfl:
sorry to hear you had the window put thru mrs moneypenny, hope the boys arnt as upset as they were. last saturday, we had empty milk cartons filled with soil and water thrown at our new car late at night and that scared my son who sleeps in the front bedroom.
    update 1 baby blanket
hoping to get some vent hates done for shelly when sons back at school, and also start a blanket for LH challenge
and maybe one day i might even start something for myself lol
found (borrowed from friend) a lovely pattern for a shoulder bag which is knitted in 100% pure wool then felted before adding a knitted frilled edge, and a knitted flower decoration. my friend made one and it looks lovely, so i am giving it a try.

Hello all - sorry I have not been on for a few days .... hubby has been off this week and has kept me busy - we have even managed a few trips in the car YIPPPEEEE - I was very pleased with myself - went to Hobbycraft (2 balls of wool and some decoupage sheets yum yum!!) - want to try visiting my Mum next because of the agoraphobia have not been to her house for over 2 years - she has told me the market has balls of wool for £1 ooohhh my mouth is watering but my purse is crying ha ha
Our computer is very sick and is running very very very slow so needs repairing (or putting in the bin - I hope not cant live without this)

Anyway - I have lots to ask and comment on so..........
Mrs Moneypenny - sorry to hear about the incident the other night - hope all is well now
Maytaurus - love the pics and your messsages! good to see you on here
PSSO -hope everything goes ok with OH
Shezmit - I really am sorry for not sending parcel and sponsor money again! will do it early part of next week when hubby and son back at work and school

    Now the questions:-

    a) does anyone know what size dog blankets should be - I am assuming ok in garter stitch - have dark wool that could be used for this

    b) I found a glove puppet on operation christmas child - made one really quickly but little one has nabbed it - only problem is my stitched face is somewhat useless - do you think it would be ok to stitch buttons on for eyes if using to send in for charity ?

I think that is all for now - it has taken me half an hour to type this aaaggghhhhh!!!
Catch you all soon - love and hugs to all Jaqui (aka f1widow xxxxxx)

on LH site, it says from 18 inches suare for pet blankets, i'm guessing the size would vary for different size dogs
cant answer about using buttons on items for charity, i'm guessing they could be chewed of by younger children:confused:, but lou has said she has a team of helpers who can sew faces on toys

I love Egypt especially visiting the ancient sites & the Suez Canal always makes me smile, as viewed from the road, it looks as though the ships are hovering along on fields
