Morning all from chilly Aberdeen .
Maytaurus – thanks for your words of encouragement. I`ve watched the youtube tutorials several times and the info can`t seem to get past the thick bit of my brainso I`m sitting saying to myself `I WILL learn this new language, I WILL learn this…etc`
Sort of self hypnosis – bring on Paul McKenna.
On a more positive note, I finished off my doggy blanket last night. 3 strands of wool and BIG needles and garter stitch so it came up really quickly and is soooo nice and cosy. Made a change from baby things, so have started another one to alternate between the more complicated small stuff.
Well, DH is off to his cardiac rehab exercise class so I have the house to myself for a while :T (peace perfect peace)…..well the 2 dogs are here but they are outside chasing any birds that DARE to sit on the fence.
So I`m off to make a cup of coffee, put on my `thinking head` and watch the crochet tutorials yet again. Just had a thought, maybe I`ll crochet a doggy blanket !!

Good afternoon from a wet and cold France, sorry I have been posted missing over the last week. I decided to scoot off with the two dogs for some nice quiet quality time (DH was away in the camper to Belgium for a bike race), well I took the laptop with me BUT forgot to take the mains lead........dumb or what? It was only meant to be a couple of days, but it was so lovely I decided to stay at the seaside till late Tueaday night, got back here just in time for the DH to roll up with a camper full of dirty washing, so no knitting done for ages and no chance to get on with any for a couple of days more me thinks.
Pam thanks for the pattern link for the socks, I have already started on another patter so will save that one away for some other time perhaps.
Maytaurus, hope your feeling a wee bit more chipper, love all the posts you make our day bringing a bit of sunshine to us all
dpixie - hope you get plenty of time to do loads while you are in France - NOTE FT are pants - just ask Kathy!
Elaine - I could always chum you to the crochet class...........I taught myself from a book for the two dog blankets I have on the wooligans site, IF I CAN DO IT well even my dogs would be able to manage that, don't ask what stitch I was doing because I haven't a clue, its frustrating because I keep seeing loads of crochet patterns for things that I know I am not capable of achieving, hey ho.
Well done Mrs Money-penny on the fund raising at the weekend a great result. I too am looking at doing ST's but it won't be started till the weekend when I can get a bit more clear around the house.
Lou - lovely to see you on here too, I think that the summer challenge is just fantastic and hope to do loads of different things for you - I am just a bit of a "butterfly" when it comes to chosing jobs to do - that way I don't get bored.
Chalky if you get stuck with the zip on the frock - you could always knit a bit in and bung a jacket over the top - what a result and you could also eat any chocolate left too - well I thought that was a great idea, ..........
Shelley- you are brilliant at the boobs, I shall have to have another go at them and see how fast I can get - probably two days knowing me!
DH is around for the next month, so I don't see a great deal of either knitting, sewing or surfing going on for me but I will try hard to keep at it.
Cuddles to everybody,

Lost the plot a bit more after that as I had a call from the cardiac dept to say DH had had a wee `funny turn` and would I collect him, so he has to go back in tomorrow to see yet another doctor !!
Right I`m off now for some proper wooliness, knitting a baby blanket this time.

morning all
thank you for the pms chalky and sylvia, i've replied to you both.
i'm not very happy this morning last night just after 11pm some s**t thought it would be clever to throw something at my eldest DS bedroom window and as a result smash a hole in it:mad: both boys were in the room, youngest is scared witless. Of course by the time the boys came rushing into us and we looked out no one to be seen. i heard a noise but didnt realise it was our window being put through.
Ive rung the police and reported it got to see if its covered on the insurace later but even if it is its £50 excess and if its not weve got to find money for a new window:mad:. i dont know what they threw as we have a gravel drive so it could be any thing off that but the hole is a perfect circle about 4 inch in diameter right in the middle of the biggest piece of glass, luckily it only broke the outer layer, so its still secure and warm till i can get it fixed.
thats my feel sorry for myself moan of the day.
did a bit of work on the 4ply gown last night.
my totals since last time in case i dont get in over the weekend
boobs 4
puffin bags 18
buntings 4

goodmorning everybody, I rang Kathy yesterday, she sounded really down, and right fed up with france telecom, I just hope she gets her umbilical to the computer sorted soon, poor love - then she can tell you all about the pallaver she has been having.
PSSO-Elaine hope you get some better news from the Doc today, keeping you in my thoughts. Oh and the reason the holey blankies were for dugs was because I couldn't keep my mind on doing trebles and there were tons of doubles and great big knots in the wool, they were my practice so that by next winter I HOPE I can do lap blankies for deserving older folks.
Mrs Money-penny what a nightmare, hope your boys are OK come bedtime tonight and that you can get it fixed at a reasonable rate - SODS! Hope you manage to get some of that sparkley wool you are after to let you get the wee blanket finished
Maytaurus you got a photo of my precious pups - no I only have two but we seem to have at least another 3 or 4 visit during the day - think they have all heard that I am a soft touch
Just going to finish my coffe then I am away to do some potting up in the poly tunnel this morning BUT I am giving myself the afternoon off so I can get stuck into some of Lou's summer challenge Sending DH off to locate some shopping for me he he - just loves the normalicy of it all, so he should be out most of the afternoon too - lovely and that's after only 3 days at home with me!
