May seem like a lot, but I didn't update last week, so that's 2 weeks worth :D. Also helps that I get a lot done through the night when mam has me up.

    Boob increase

Well, I'm about to throw a spanner in the works because I don't use either of those two methods.

Wrap wool once around right thumb. Move thumb forward to the tip of right needle and back again, slipping needle under wool as you bring it back.

I've found this method leaves the stitches a little looser and easier to work.

Of course left-hand knitters would have to substitute 'left' for 'right'

Hi everyone – here I am coming out of lurking mode. I’ve been a bit “humphy” again the last few days and PamsPal has been away so no-one to put me in a bag and shake me up.

I’ve been keeping a watchful eye on you all – what a time you’ve had Mrs Moneypenny – a terrific weekend fundraising Well done!, then that awful business with your window. I hope your boys are getting over the fright.

Lou - hope your building works are nearing the end.

Chalky glad to hear your settling back – good luck with the zip! Can you let us know how many teds you brought back – it looked like an army! Hope your Hen w/e went well.

Maytaurus – Sooooooo love to see your posts – always brighten my day. I simply adore the Sleepy Sarah amigurumi – that’s been me this week – I think my diabetes level have gone out of whack. Many thanks for updating #964 – I have it bookmarked on my toolbar – refer to it a lot.

Psso – hope your DH is feeling better and pleased to hear your crochet is coming along - I have a treat for all newbie crocheters – will post details after I’ve done the update.

Roamin - I can imagine you as a butterfly a pretty little peacock Peacock.jpg though I’m much the same when it comes to projects – what my mother would call a flibbertigibbet – here there and everywhere! Keep going with the crochet – watch for later post re “treat”.

Purpleteddybear - meet another wool thrower – always have for 45 + years – too late to change now, goody, yet another crochet newbie – see above

F1widow – well done with your outings sounds like you’ve been having fun and found some bargains – good on ya! Hope poorly ‘puter is better soon

K2Tog - Well Done – a CROCHET blanket – I’m really impressed. Watch out for “treat” later.

Dpixie – please don’t take this lovely weather away when you go back to France – I don’t grow veggies but I’ve been practising how to be one this week. Give the telecom peeps what for,

Shazrobo – a whole attic for a craftroom – wow! I spread through the whole house but it means I have a major clear up job if I know anyone is visiting. Lovely to hear about your Mum’s knitting – real squares – I’d settle for a straight edge from my Mum, bless her. Shall add your mum to the update.

PippaS - thanks hun – OK now. Yes its been really quiet this week – beautiful weather makes the garden beckon, kids off school plus some DH’s being around seems to have quietened us down quite a bit.

[FONT=&quot]I haven’t finished anything apart from a few bootees this week however, I’ve two cardies at the ‘finishing’ stage plus one on the needles about half way through, three blankets underway – one for Lou’s SANDS challenge, a design project for another simple “reversible” and another with a bit more challenge in it – real cables and squares with different stitch pattern in them. Can't settle to anything for long so I need plenty to go at, even too fidgity to read & I love reading.

OK time to stop griping & go do something - time for a coffee while I do the
    UPDATE. catch you all later.

    Luv & hugs to everyone

Anne, I think you deserve a break after all those boobies! :A
Have tried kfb for boobs but think I might try Lorna’s way next – thank you for that.
Jaqui, I’ve been messing about with knitting off and on (but mostly off!) for a little while after learning as a little girl but have only recently started following patterns for actual things rather than learning new stitches with squares. I was initially looking for a home for squares and here I am! I’m still at the stage where I’m very surprised and delighted if things look like they are supposed to! Glad you’re at home here too. And congrats on your recent car trips – well done. Jaqui, if your fan is broken on the PC, make sure you back anything precious up to cd or memory stick in case you get bad blocks on your hard drive.
To all you other butterflies – me too. Only my DH says I am a good starter - and by implication a poor finisher! I think butterfly is much nicer and that’s what I’ll tell him. ;) I like to have a few things on the go because bigger stuff can get a bit tedious. I think that’s why I like the baby stuff in between.
What a lovely result with your Mum Shaz. I hope she enjoys knitting with us.
Good luck with Telecom France Dpixie – don’t feel too optimistic after poor Kathy’s shenanigans with them so fingers crossed!
Oops, better stop wittering and get on with update.

Ok -- home safe and sound from the hen weekend and of course just wanted to come online and catch up. Stag weekend went amazingly well and DOH earned so many Brownie points because we arrived home to the news of so many shannigans but everything was soooooo clean and tidy. And there had been 10*** men staying in the house all weekend.

Girls had a spa weekend in Bath-- amazing = swimming in a roof pool up amongst the rooftops I felt like Mary Poppins!!!

Knitting was interseting cos I always have it with me ( Innocent Smoothies and childrens needles fit in a purse and are sooooo handy sometimes)

Loads done cos soo used to OH in a King Size bed -- lovely accomodation but single bed with sheets and blankets -- knitted half way through the nights and seriously knitted as youngest DD drove cos I did not want to do a speedometer check

My aim this week is to unpack all the Spanish knitting and do a total update and send some parcels off , That seems fine except I am addicted to knittingf so keep thinking " Oh well I will just do 1 more ---- and then send it of !!! " So pfungi I will do a count and let you know.

If anyone is lurking --- please take the plunge and join this happy throng of knitters/crocheters (friends) we would welcome you happily
Try and do a good deed every day.

Hi guys - quite a few of you have started to crochet and I thought you might like/be ready for a little challenge.

I’ve found a lovely EASY blanket pattern & thought you might like to try a test piece of the pattern.

Using whatever yarn & hook you have around

    29 chain (loosely)

Row 1: In the 5th chain from hook, work 1 dc, ch 2, and 2 tr, *skip 2 ch, work 1 dc, ch 2, and 2 tr all in the next ch. Repeat from * across to last 3 ch , skip 2 ch, work 1 tr in the last ch.

Row 2: Chain 3, turn. Work 1 dc, ch2, and 2 tr clustered all in the first ch-2 loop. Repeat in all loops across to last loop. Work 1 tr in ch-3 space at the end of row.

Repeat Row 2 until you have a square

I’ll work a test piece using dk wool & 4.00mm hook, I thought we could then compare our results, & then if you fancy it you might want a go at the blanket.

    I’ve described the stitches below

British English Double Crochet (DC) : American English Single Crochet
Insert the hook in the stitch to be worked, wrap the yarn over the hook,
pull the yarn through the stitch, (= two loops on the hook),
wrap the yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through the two loops on the hook.

British English Treble (Tr) : American English Double Crochet
Wrap the yarn over the hook, insert the hook in the stitch to be worked, wrap the yarn over the hook,
pull the yarn through the stitch (= three loops on the hook), wrap the yarn over the hook,
pull the yarn through the first two loops on the hook (= two loops on the hook),
wrap the yarn over the hook again, pull the yarn through the remaining two loops on the hook.

This links to a really clear tutorial page – good pics! American terms.

Thanks Pam, I think I'm going to have a go at that.
Also, thanks for the totals once again.

Just finished my first boob! It's the right shape! Makes me feel a tad inadequate though :rotfl:

It's lemon and mint - I don't seem to have much in non baby colours!

    Husband bemused.......
