G'mornin all I hope all is well with everyone.

I finished me test piece and my square is 6½"

    heres a pic :061.jpg

I really like the pattern and I found it to be nice & easy (note that I have plenty of experience) and I settled into a comfortable rhythm once I'd done the first row and it grows at a satisfying rate.

The DK and 4.00mm hook gave a lovely weight and soft texture.

I will definitely be making the Baby blanket and I have a feeling this pattern will become one of my favourites. In fact I have in mind a lovely winter throw for myself
using some Sirdar Denim Ultra I have in my stash.

Please let me know how its going for you, or if you need any help.

    Luv

    Morning all.

I have my theoretical day-to-myself today. I say theoretical because it never seems to work out that way lately - and I have DH working from home today.
I am going to do photos, parcelling and posting today (another theory!) to Shelley and LH to make some room as my stash is spreading all over the place - DH still not complaining due to expensive camera purchase, remember? but even I can see it needs sorting :o.
Pam, I haven't tried the square yet as have been busy with boobs - I often get little obsessions when I try something new :rotfl:, hence all the recent crochet! Yours looks great and I will give the pattern a whirl. Hope everyone is well and happy today x

    Morning everyone,

Boring old grey clouds here today, hopefully the sun will break through later.

Maytaurus - Thankyou for you kind thoughts and hugs, I really needed them, they struggle for the first week back to school and yesterday was really hard, better this morning though so am keeping my fingers crossed they'll settle down quicker this time.:)

Prfungi - Your square looks fab, mine looks nothing like it at all:o, I'm not keen on the wool I've been using so I am going to have another go with something different. will let you know how I get on.

    Have a good day all,:j

    morning all

hugs and kinds thoughts for anyone in need of them.
lovely weather here yesterday and today looks the same. spent ysterday afternoon setting the trampoline back up but a couple of straps had come off the safety net so had to get the sewing machine out for that. i've left it out as ive got some towels that need recycling so i'll convert them into STs today.
Did a bit on my sands blanket while 24 was on but its slow going now the rows are getting longer.

hope every one has a good day

  • I am with you ONLYGIRL - had a go last evening and it looks Pants to say the least- frogged it back (see you are never too old to learn new terms/things) and will give it another go this evening.
K2TOG ha I had one of them yeseterday - even tho' I had a load of interuptions I did achieve and that's what it's all about. I was doing Algerian Lady's products - poor women, I just can't ignore their plight, so I hope you manage to get all you want to do done.
MAYTAURUS 9 hectares - nearest neighbour 3 fields away - my idea of heaven on earth and I so don't deserve it!
CHALKY I am green with envy at your wool donation, I have tried on my local French freecycle but there doesn't seem to be a great deal, it's early days here, perhaps when more join in this area there will be a better selection of "STUFF", we also only have one charity shop within an hours drive and the selection in there isn't that brilliant either. I shall have to get my sis (UK) to sign up for freecycle and see if she can get me some.
I only popped on while I was waiting on the kettle to boil, so I had better go and get on with it, hope to be back later
Jean in France - hope the sun is out for everybody today

I agree Jean, the STs for Algerian Action is a fantastic cause. I'm not much cop with a sewing machine (which is my Mum's and might need a service - or could just be user error :o) but I might give it a go with stuff in the airing cupboard - thanks Mrs MP for the idea. I guess even if mine don't turn out too pretty they will be better than the alternative for them.

eeyorerules - the clothes would be going to children aged up to 16. There are usually lots of things for the little ones, I understand, so maybe you would like to do things for older ones ? depends on the patterns you have eg sizes etc.

It really doesn`t matter what size you do, or whether it`s a tank top or waistcoat or cardigan, as everything will go to a good cause and be very much appreciated.

Whoops, also meant to say that if you check on the first page of this thread, you`ll find loads of free patterns as Maytaurus is an absolute star and keeps finding new things for us. Do check it out when you have a `spare` hour :rotfl:or so.!!
