    Evening everybody
KNit2tog--- I thought I would follow your example and take a break from knitting. So much lovely wool from the freecycling I thought crochet would use it up more quickly. I have made the shrug from the Central Patterns but am unsure where to join seams for the arms. I will wait until my friends little girl comes and measure it against her

I made it using trebles as I find them so much easier to do . I just get in the swing of the movement. It worked really quickly and I am pleased with it so will probably make some more.

Off to take MIL out tomorrow so will not get much craft work done but never mind.
Try and do a good deed every day.

It's nice to have a change isn't it Chalky? I think my impatience has something to do with it - crochet does seem quicker and I can lounge round doing it!
Pam, I had a go at the pattern, realised I was doing it wrong for 2 rows, corrected it and it looked better  but didn't look anywhere near as neat as yours. It did have a nice rhythm so think I'm going to have another go. Mine looked sort of slanted so I think my tension may be too loose. It's nice to feel that I'm getting better at something though - progress!

There IS a slant to the pattern - its not obvious on my pic. the stitch pattern is "slanted shell". Well done! sounds like you got that right. I'm sure the rest is just tension and wool/hook combination, what did you use?

The complete blanket has a border of the same shell stitch and looks really good.

I picked up the stitch pattern from a US charity pattern already published - I've asked the original designers permission to convert and use it - its been okayed!

I will write up my conversion and send it to Shelley to put on PreemiesUK, together with all relevant acknowledgments.

As I said in my last post - I think this is going to become one of my stand-by choices - will make a nice change from granny squares and has so many more design options - the pattern will work with ANY thread/yarn.

    Must STOP Preaching !

    'bye for now

Crochet Boobs - afraid I can't help with dimensions but have found a pattern which may help on this blog.

    Hi May

Re:-How big are your boobs ?

too flippin big at the moment:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

but seriously:rolleyes:....it varies with what wool I am using as some DK is thicker than others, and I had some bits of 4 ply so I doubled it up and did a couple in that. I dont think it matters really as long as they are not bigger than the midwives can hold, ;)
