I’m so pleased to hear that your mum can still get some pleasure from her knitting
Our charity shops sell 100g for £1.22p 100g, but it’s very inferior to the B&M wool @ 79p
Some of the charity shops make me quite cross when they overprice things, especially when they end up throwing things away because they haven’t been sold
Is there no B&M near you?
I also got some more wool (oops .... it was supposed to be a secret ! )
At ‘Instore’ & I’m really pleased with it 200g £2.50p

hi maytaurus, we have a b and m here, i have several black bags full of their wool here, soon to be moved in to the newly converted loft, my stash room hehe. still like looking in charity shops for bargain wool, like i found yesterday.
also dewsbury market which is near me has a fabulous wool stall, and i also stock up when i go there. in fact my family think i have an obsession for buying wool, but i see it as rescueing the balls from the shops lol

    Morning all,

Another lovely sunny day here, it makes a nice change to grey cloud.

    Update for this week

    2 boobs
    1 vent hat

Not much from me this week again, haven't had much time with boys being off for easter.

Maytaurus - my son just turned 5 last month he's only been talking for about a year now, ds1 is nearly 7 and he's under assessment for autism too although we think he has aspergers which is not as severe.
They are lovely boys though challenging but lovely.

Hope everyone has a nice day.:j

    Take care, Eve.x

    Hi All
Have finally taken the plunge and going to try a boob. I'm doing the geocities one which everyone seemed to think was easier. I have a question though - do you have to do the m1 by picking up the strand in between stitches or would kfb work? I find kfb less fiddly but never having done a boob before, don't know what difference it would make

I've tried it both ways, and can't say that it looks much different, but the kfb was loads easier to do as the knitting got quite tight at all the pick ups.

Thanks Pol, yes, that's what I'm finding - I look like I'm doing the funky chicken trying to do the pick ups! Think I'll swap methods now.

    Hello everyone

Isnt it a beautiful day, I've been out in the garden for the last few hours, back in and going to sit down and get my needles clicking ;)

k2tog - I will leave the needles and all things related to knitting at home, and have a break for a bit :D.... I can't see that it would make any difference which way you increase on the base of the boobs, give it a try and see. I know what you mean about the way it says on the pattern, it is a bit tricky.

L C Wilson - you sure have been busy

    Prfungi - you OK?

Seems a bit quiet on here the last few days, must be everyone enjoying the lovely sunshine

I will do another post with my totals on straight after this one.

ktog - I had fun making the boob - well done for taking the plunge - how long have you been knitting? (I only have for about 8 months and it was this forum that really spurred me on) - with regards the increasing I have sat for ages watching the videos on videojug etc and the pick up one did get very tight - have just started a baby blanket and thats kfb and now its growing I think that is quite easy now.

oooh you girls have been talking about cheap wool - it makes my mouth water .......... I only became obsessed by wool since joining in here - I agree with you maytaurus charity shops do sell things quite expensive sometimes - our local one has said that trade is very bad - they sometimes have donated wool (you have to ask though as I think they hide it upstairs brought an absolutely huge ball for £1.50 the other week!!!) - our other charity shop sells "new" wool - thats £1.40 - £2.00 per ball and they only have limited colours - I was shocked at how much some of the wool was in Hobbycraft the other day ......... so was pleased with my £1 balls on Saturday (maytaurus - lovely to see you on again today - hope you are not feeling too bad at the mo)

shazrabo - I have my craft desk and drawers at the end of our lounge (its big as it used to be a chapel!) do sometimes wish I had my own room though as then I could hide stuff away hmmmmmmmmm - I must admit though I am clearing some of my cardmaking stash and putting on ebay - have to watch the pennies but at least if I "recycle" I dont feel so bad buying some other bits and pieces.

Anyway I have five minutes before tea and sorting my small one out ready for school so will take advantage and have a cuppa/ginger nut/knitting session

Hope you have all had a lovely day - weather great here - hugs to everyone
    love Jaqui xx (f1widow)
