Well chocolate been eaten-- wedding chocolate brownies had their FINAL assessments. Bridesmaids materials and various stages of undress going on all day and a long search for a piece of modern music to accompany DS and soon to be DIL out of the ceremony has been my back drop to knitting all day. The weather we are hoping is just practising for 6 weeks time !!!

Hope everyone has had really good Easters. Relaxing and fun

Kathy great to hear from you and hope you are soon back with us full time, Sorry you have been unwell.

Hope everyone has Happt Easter Mondays.

Re ‘how do you remember all that you want to say?’
I always type out in Microsoft word first and then I can do a little at a time & keep going back to it (especially helpful with having the M.E.)
Then I can paste & copy to the thread
I hope your your Easter eggstravaganza went well for you all
I think the choir website is eggcellent
Although I am presuming you didn’t get the things I sent to you, so that’s not good

Pleasedthe teddies were well behaved during your trip back to the U.K. sorry you had a rough crossing; it can be really bad sometimes can’t it?
There are many seasoned seafarers who say that they find the channel crossing worst of all.
Pippa.S mentioned how rough the Bay of Biscay can be & I remember the sea totally disappearing from view & only being able see sky at the bow end when it lifted in the waves, the stabilizers went & we had to be towed to port ... but luckily I’m a good sailor & had the bonus of an xtra 2 days on board yay !
Hope everything is going according to plan for the wedding

Please don’t get stressed about your BOOBS !
I haven’t done any as I find crochet easier at the moment, as obviously I only have to be able to hold the 1 hook instead of 2 needles, so I am looking for a crochet boob pattern!
Re;’ shezmit - wow how quick you rattle off a "boob"! that surely is a "super boob"’

So sorry to hear that the post office has lost your b/day birthday present, I hope it turns up.
It looks like they also must’ve lost the parcel I sent to Mrs-moneypenny for the choirboys as I’m sure she would have mentioned if she had received it and I can’t find my receipt either grrrr at least I could have claimed & donated the £ to the choirboys
It’s so annoying isn’t it, I’ve had loads of parcels & cards go missing over the years & it always seems to be the most important things
I’m sure shezmitsaid that she has also had parcels go missing

Glad you’re feeling a bit better hun
And that 2 of my parcels arrived safely
There are 2 more on their way

for letting me know that they passed inspection
I have pm’d you the pattern for the mittens
If the others pass, I might manage to post them on Wooligans ...... yaaay !

    French knots
    (may be useful)
You can use them as the centre of embroidered or knit flowers, as the eyes for stuffed toys or just as random decoration
Thread the needle with some yarn, tie a knot at the end of the yarn and bring the needle up through the knitting/crochet etc, from back to front, in the place where you want the knot to be.
Wrap the yarn around the needle as many times as you need to
The more times you wrap the yarn, the bigger your knot will be.
Place the needle back through the knit fabric, close to where you came up, but not exactly the same place.
Slowly pull the needle through. You may need to hold the knot as the eye of the needle goes through the fabric so it doesn't pull to the back.

Glad you had good weather in Yarmouth and well done on the bargain wool !
We’ve had lots of sun here, which always helps me to feel better as I have S.A.D. & I hate the English weather in general especially the grey skies.
But none of those on this thread !!

    Re;'
I've been sorting through all the free patterns I've downloaded recently - I think I've got myself over excited:rotfl: feeling quite giddy - there's enough to keep me going for about 5 years'
I know ...... I'm the same :rotfl:but it's nice to be able to look in your patterns document and know you'll know find patterns that you've used B4 or previously chosen because you liked them.
It's so much easier than searching from scratch, as it's usually the case that when you really want a specific pattern ... you can't find one.
I always buy b/day cards etc when I see one I like as I find the same problem with them

Good morning everyone, hope you're all enjoying the break (if you get one!)

Lovely to see you've managed to get online for a mo Kathy :j, we all miss you, keeping fingers crossed for the end of this month!

Maytaurus, as always, you've brightened the day!! Thank you!

I'm at work, but expect it to be very quiet, so have brought my knitting - might be able to knock off a couple of blankets if this keeps up! (well, I maybe overestimating my knitting speed there, but still I can try!).

    Thanks for that, Shelley

Off to visit Mum tomorrow for a few days with DD1 (isn't it lovely once they can offer to drive :D) Anyway, once we get back I will pop over with my stash - yes, I know I was going to a while back, but was out of commission for some time - hopefully I'm back to almost normal - whatever that means

Love to all, and I hope your Easter break is going well.

    Good Morning all.

Hope everyone is having a nice Easter.
I’m sorry I’ve not done the update yet – will do it later today after I’ve visited Mum.

I was going to do it last night but I ventured into the loft for a rummage and decided to sort out the “bit” of wool I had up there OH DEAR !!!!! I knew I had a LOAD of pure wool Aran up there part knitted - I also found

3 x 500g balls of acrylic Aran in pastels (dont remember buying it)

7 x 50g balls Biaritz Mohair (I do remember buying that – 21 years ago sshhh) and about

900g of beautiful boucle again part knitted (bought over 10 years ago).

I spent the rest of the evening unravelling – the boucle is a challenge but perseverance is paying off. The aran is easier to undo but a bit sad if I consider all the work that went into it, still no-ones fault but my own and circumstances at the time.

The boucle cries out to be a shawl or wrap of some kind – its so soft & warm when knitted up.

The mohair – dunno maybe one of those moebius scarves/wraps?

The pastel aran can be used for baby knits

The wool aran - hmm, not sure, maybe an heirloom piece or two (okay maybe three) any suggestions gratefully received.

Maytaurus - glad to see you're on form - lovely post which cheered me up no end (not a morning person so usually grumpy first thing). Love the coaster - started one yesterday just got the fiddly stuffing bits to do.

Shazrobo - glad you had a good break - nice to have you back.

    Well, time I had breakfast

    catch you all later

    luv

  • Just had to pop on and say hello to all of you - it is Lou here from Loving Hands - tried to use that as a username for here but as I was already on MSE as loving hands had to leave it like that :0)

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Kathy and all the other Wooligans for the wonderful support you have given us since you all began joining in last year - we are delighted to have so many of you on board and helping with our challenges etc. :j

I have posted all the totals for the spring challenges and announced the new summer ones now so hopefully there will be lots there to tempt you to keep on working on our behalf.

I will try to find time to pop on here from time to time to have a look at what you are all doing but finding time is not always easy with so many members at LH now :0) (Over 560 at last count!). :j

Keep up the good work folks - we love you all!

It is lovely to see them looking so happy.Bridesmaids dresses nearly finished and I am in the middle of replacing the zip in the dress I am wearing to the wedding. It broke when I tried it on at Christmas and there has been some extra Tapass and chocolate since then so it is BIG D start day tomorrow !!!

I've just finished off an aran blanket, first time of using arant and I have to say I did NOT enjoy knitting with it!! Does anyone else feel that way? Perhaps it was just this particular wool. Pity, because I have a fair bit of it, perhaps I'll just need to use it in short doses lol.

Hi Lou :hello: nice to see you, welcome to our corner!

Well, I've promised myself a night of crochet after being so miserable with the knitting earlier - I have literally one hook lol, and I haven't done crochet since I was knee-high, but I'm keen to get back into it. We'll see how I get on :D
