Hi everybody, you pop away for a couple of days and the next thing you know there are pages and pages of things to catch up with...........
Moilliere just to let you know that I checked the weather forecast for you sunny and 16/17C day time - 1/2C night time all week till Monday - fog and Tuesday rain, so you be prepared for the cold nights then, have a good trip over and I will be in touch. - 9 calves total now - only one set of twins.
I have done some more innocent smoothy hats, the teddy is finished and I even managed a bag for him, as well as a scarf that looks remarkably like a caterpillar - photies posted on wooligans for you all to have a laugh at. I shall post totals and knitting as requested on a seperate post, but I think I should keep it all till you are settled in and back on line. I will see how it goes.
Oh and welcome to all the newbies, keep up all the good work. What has Mr Darcey to do with anything - am I missing something here.........whoever he is he hasn't been on my telly? I read the book and made up my own vision - he looked a bit like Johnny Depp am I any where close? Hope to get back sometime soon.
Come back soon Maytaurus, I really miss you........................and I am sure everyone else does too.
My DH was forced to go to the shops today and buy me a carton of Carte d'ore ice cream (other brands are available I am sure, but do they taste as good?) - I know you would all have volunteered to get one and measure it for me but I thought I would save you all that eating..............soon as I empty the tub I shall do a pattern for sewing a crib up - Shezmitt I have a couple of questions about this can I pm you?

oo happy 90th LC's mum! Mine is 70 and mad as a hat...in a nice way!
Finished my 2nd square last night - only 74 to go!! Have had to give the square a breather after discovering that hobbycraft have discontinued the wool I am using for my blanket so I need to finish it and scour the country for wool as necessary - ordered 14 balls locally but in my knitting noviceness am unsure how much I will need...very annoying - esp as its unusual wool and I only got it last week...
moliere cant believe oure still posting while having so much packing etec to do! Safe journey to you!
I do laugh with the "made another boob" comment!! Will keep doing straight lines for now and when I get time for guidance will develop! Also making a bag for a bday pressie...smaller than I thought it would be. Ho hum...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hi guys - here I am, haven't I been a quiet girl today?
Looked at the fog about 6am & dived back into bed (managed it without disturbing the dog, hee hee) promptly went back to sleep and then overslept.
Did paperwork and tried to make 'phone calls but no-one wanted to talk to me so I did a bit of work on my blanket and then took my Mum out for coffee and cake.
Now just having a break from yet another boob job! - PamsPal just been and she asked me if they were baby hats ???????????:rotfl:

Hi Kathy - Did you have a good time today - the weather was great for an outing?

Good morning everyone.
I looked in briefly last night and meant to come back and wish LC Wilson's Mum a Happy 90th Birthday, but the evening just disappeared. We had a lovely time taking the grandchildren out, took them back home reluctantly, stayed for a coffee with DS1 and DIL1, came home, then DS2 came to collect a couple of wardrobes we didn't need, so we went back with him to help him with those, had another coffee with him and DIL2 and, before we knew it, it was 10pm. Anyway, it was a lovely but tiring day, and I had forgotten that the house was full of boxes and dust! We're seeing them all again on Tuesday when we come back with the empty truck, so I haven't had the real goodbye yet.
L C - I hope your Mum had a great birthday - 90 years old is incredible, isn't it?
Roamin in the gloamin (the other half of a pair of French knickers!) - thanks for the weather forecast! I've been wondering what sort of clothes to leave out for the next few days and it will need to be a mixture. I was freezing cold when we left DS2's at 10-ish last night, which made me decide to take my long coat for the ferry trip - it's the late night ferry, so will be colder than the daytime; I can't bear to be cold, and ferries aren't the warmest of places, are they? I'm expecting the nights to be cold in France - our friends have been saying that it's lovely and sunny during the day, but still very cold in the evenings. Bless them, they've been and put the heating on in our place, so it will be nice and warm when we get there. They're meeting us there on Sunday, with plenty of milk in the fridge for the endless cuppas we'll need while we're all unloading.
I resisted the urge to buy more wool yesterday; our local market here has a stall that gets more inviting every week. The chap running it just knows which buttons to press for us knitters! As you all know, there's something about rows and rows of brand new wool, all neat and tidy, in gorgeous colours and textures - I touched a few of them, then walked away, only looking back once! If DH hadn't been with me, I know I'd have bought some, but I had no excuse to offer - I won't live long enough to use up what I've already got!
Anyway, I shall keep logging in here before I finally get turned off tomorrow afternoon. If I get the chance, I shall try and call back when we stay here with our friends on Tuesday night, when we bring the empty truck back. We drive the cars to France on Wednesday, then get reconnected on Thursday a.m. It's going to seem like a very long five days, in more ways than one.
I hope you all have a great day, and thank you so much for all your work - I just know the next update will be phenomenal! I'll be packing for most of the day (now there's a surprise!), and only have to pop out to the hairdresser's for a quick trim this morning, so I shall be calling in and out of here during the day.
