LC - Belated congrats from me too honey, I hope your mum had a wonderful day and that this year brings her lots of joy.

Kathy, you sound much calmer today, I think that jaunt out with the grandkiddies did you the power of good! We'll all be thinking of you during your move, and missing you like crazy too! Hope it all goes well xxx

Pam - you make me laugh with your boob jobs, not something I've tried yet, I suspect when I do I'll be giggling all the way through!!

Jean in France - how do you find time to do everything?? I envy you with the calves right now, I'm in the city but am a country girl at heart, tis in my genes after generations of farmers! They're just so darned cute! Fingers crossed all goes well with the next ones.

Maytaurus - hugs for you, wherever you are, thinking of you xxx

I've been having a major clearout at home, so my knitting has been suffering, but I'll get back on track soon. I started a lovely wrap for my mum, and now that I'm into the pattern, hating every minute of it!!!! Most of it is simple enough, but 2 rows of the pattern call for a repeat including knitting two together through the back, and I utterly hate it! Anyhow, decision will have to be made as to whether I stick with it, or rip it back and try something different! Also knitting this with a mohair mix, so not the easiest to work with. Hey ho!

What size needles do you use for your squares? I am really struggling to get them to be the same size and the needles I used for the first square currently have a never ending scarf on them which i am hoping to get finished soon (fingers crossed)

Depends if I am following a pattern or just making it up as I go along,
    Usually 3.1/4mm (10)... 3.3/4mm (9)... or 4mm (8)... old sizes in brackets.

Also depends what size you want to do and what wool you use as some DK is thicker than others

    Hope this helps

Tonight when I go home I will have a look at what wool I am using and the size of my needles.

What size are the AAron squares meant to be?

  • Aeshna - Being a girlie I can multitask..........ha ha, they aren't my cows, they belong to my neighbour - he broke his ankle two weeks ago so we just all muck in, like you from farming stock you just dig in and help where you can...hey I can sleep when I am dead.

Pippa S - Anne as I am Scottish I am well qualified to be undignified and have no decorum what so ever - so the french knickers can roam all over the place- think Kathy will be the dignified decorous one in this pairing!

just trying to get a bit of essential sewing done and then its lunch - 2 hours off yipee-back later.

Very true - I bought dk wool recently, started knitting a wee baby cardi and was not happy with it at all. The wool is more like 4ply so I`ll have to dig out my 4ply patterns and try that instead or if all else fails, double it and do IS hats !!

Well, as Mr Humphries said " I`m free" ....for the afternoon anyway, so it`s a toss up whether I go and put the oven on and do some baking or put the kettle on, make a cuppa and do some knitting ...........I wonder ???

Gosh, I suddenly feel very thirsty ---see you later chums.;)
