Pam and Shaz, it sounds like you had a lovely time together, how wonderful for you both to be able to meet up. I often wonder if my mental picture of you all is pure fantasy or anything like the reality!

Since I've made a promise to Shelley that I'll get her preemie bits posted this weekend, without fail (and knowing that they're running low on supplies has got me going), I figured I'd better get knitting more while I'm at it. Means I don't have to tackle that horrid wrap I started for mum!!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday evening - don't know about you all, but this feels like it's been an incredibly quick week.

Hope I'm not too late to wish Kathy bon voyage before her connection is cut. Hope you're soon settled in and back with us.

And thanks to everyone for the good wishes for mam. She had a wonderful day yesterday, but these damned flowers are choking me.

    Hi everyone.

Pam and Shaz - how lovely that you could meet up! I wish we could all have joined you.

Roamin in the gloamin - I'm not sure I'd be the dignified half of a pair of French Knickers!

Pol - if your Mum would like to be on our list, she's more than welcome; thanks for recruiting her!

Well, thanks for all the kind words for me and my venture across the channel. We've been so busy today, cleaning the house up and so on. Luckily, we have a covered area just outside the back door - it's secure from anyone's view, and we've stacked all our boxes out there - we can just open the double doors to the front, reverse the truck down, and load up - well, that's DH's plan and it seems like a good one. The fact that all the boxes are in one place means that less time will be spent loading the truck.

I've been to the hairdressers for a trim and she used straighteners on my hair - the first time I've had that. My hair is long and straight, anyway, but she made it even straighter - it doesn't look like my hair now, it's far too tidy! Still, it won't last, once I've showered tomorrow.

Well, I'm going to sit down and start on some little things for Preemies now - I will try very hard to stay awake!

Hope you are all having a great evening. I'll call in as often as i can tomorrow.

If you imagine me as anything other than a gorgeous, slim, incredibly attractive 35 year old blonde bombshell then I'm afraid you'd be sadly mistaken; hmmm - should it be the opposite?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl:Spot on Pam :D;)

Shelley, I just had a thought (I know, it's a bit late in the[strike]evening[/strike] morning for that!) but I've just finished another burial gown and hat, and I wondered if it might be an idea to attach crochet ties at the back? I know they're easier to put on as they're open at the back, but I thought if mum is holding baby angel wearing the gown, it might be nice to have it held closed. Let me know what you think. In the meantime, it's waaaay past my bedtime!!

    Night all xxxx

HI everyone and thank you so much for the 'bon voyages' and good luck wishes!

We are stacked out with boxes now, and upstairs is almost empty, apart from our bed and wardrobe. DS2 is coming round later - he finishes work at 11 on a Friday, so he'll help DH with all the heavy stuff, then he and a friend are helping us to load the truck tomorrow. We catch the 11pm ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre, then will have a five hour drive (during which time I hope to knit and nap!), and will arrive at the house at about lunchtime on Sunday. BIL and SIL (who already live out there) have said they will get some basics in for us, and they are bringing a meal over for us, too, so that will be very welcome. They and some other friends will be there to help us unload, so that will make things a lot easier.

Anyway, for now, I'm still here, trying to stay calm, until my internet goes off late this afternoon. I'll keep calling in until then.

I hope you all have a great day.

Shezmit - thank you for your kind words about the parcel and glad you got it so quick - love Jaqui xx

By the way girls, the "holey" blanket I was having trouble with earlier in week is coming on now - I dont knit very fast but have done about 6 inches and am quite pleased with it - Im thinking what colour I can do the next one - trouble is doing a blanket I dont get anything else knitted :o:o

Will call in later with a "la la" moment Im sure (by the way have had such a bad headache this week - called into pharmacist who said it sounded like a hormonal migraine - it was all that talk of men earlier in the week me thinks!!!)
