Hi all - I've overslept horribly! Some wally (and it wasn't me!) put the bedroom radiator on 'cos he was cold and the bedroom was like a sauna when we finally woke up! He has been told off!
I have a deadline for some freelance writing this morning, so I'll have to get on with that first and then do the updating.
Hope you are all OK. I'll be back!

I am really pleased with myself as I managed to finish the mini scarf off last night, although I forgot how to cast off and don't have the internet at home so couldn't get on here to find out how!!
I did remember how to cast on though and have started with what I am hoping will turn into a pale blue square!!!
I do have a question though, this mini scarf has gone all twisted, will try and post a picture so you can see what i mean, can anyone explain why? My mum says it could be because I am knitting to tight but she's unsure as she couldn't see. (We were talking on the phone hehe)*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0 -

1 creme egg chick for my choirboys please i will have to stop giving them slanted eyes both DS and DD say they look scarey now:o i took the 10 ive already completed to church last night they were delighted with them
must do a bit more of DS's blanket square next, i thought i'd run out of baby coloured wools but ive found a little more so can hopefully do some more squares towards Aarons totals, and some beige i can use for boobs. I'm trying not to buy any more wool till ive at least made a dent in the stash again but once i get down to boring wools i lose the incentive.
cant really think of a reason why the scarf would have twisted s_michaels sorry, did you work out how to cast off in the end. (knit two stitches, pass 1st one over 2nd then knit another so you have 2 again and repeat the process till the last stitch break wool off leaving a lenght and put that through the last stitch annd pull so it locks that stitch. then either sew the end in )SPC~12 ot 124

Kathy, could you update me with one baby bunting please. Once I'd finished I was stunned and saddened by just how small these are. Shelley, can I assume you need varying sizes, or are these really for the tiny, tiny babes born sleeping?

Morning all
Managed to complete the knitting and sewing up of 3 creme egg chicks last night, all I need to do now is put the eyes and beaks on (although struggling with the beaks!)
My wool delivery from Kemps yesterday was delightful, and I now have plenty to keep me going (not that I didn't have enough already), but I need some beige (thought I had some but can't find it, mind you, in the cupboard that doubles as a wool shop, I'm not surprised!)
Have lots of yellow and orange though, so more chicks/ducks methinks!
Better finish this last chuck (cross between a chick and a duck) before I collect DS from nursery. DD is still asleep!

Hi everyone- I've got a bit of time now! I hate waking up late - it really throws me out for the whole day.
Anyway, lots of updating to do - I shall do a separate post for that.
I've been sorting out my wool stash - I do that every so often and it looks really organised and tidy, then I have to look for a particular ball of wool, and it ends up in a mess again. What I would love is a room with wall-to-ceiling shelving - a shelf for each colour! I don't think it would be high on DH's list of priorities, though!
I had phone calls last night which hindered my crocheting, sadly, so I haven't quite finished a crochet bunting. I started one the day before which I made on too big a hook, so it's too wide, but one of Maytaurus's link shows a bunting that has a sort of cross-over front, so I shall turn it into one of those, rather than unpick it!
Aeshna - it makes us all sad when we do our first bunting. They are unbelievably small, aren't they? What makes them rewarding to make is the thought of the comfort they bring to the bereaved parents. At such a sad time, their little one can go on its journey wrapped in something that has been hand knitted with love and care. They are so worth making.
Mrs Moneypenny - your children sound as if they have set themselves up as your quality controllers! I'm sure your ducks and chicks are lovely!
Well, off to do the update now! Hope you are all having a great day.

purpleteddybear, not sure which pattern you are using but ive knitted the beaks for mine
my beak pattern cast on 4 stitches knit 4 rows leave a long enough end to sew up with and thread this through the 4 stitches on the needle pull tight and fasten off, by pulling tight you end up with a triangle sort of shape with a thread off 2 corners use one of these ends to sew the beak in place then what i do is push the needle down through the inside of the ducks head so it comes out of hs neck i do the same with the other end thread then i knot them together securely.
I do my eyes in a similar way poking up through the neck embroidering them both then bringing the end back down to knot so its hidden inside the body.
hope this helps in some way if you are struggling as i dont know which pattern you are using the one i used had a cardboard beak
