The Bellagio Fountains4 Adults including myself are driving to vegas from LA from 26 april returning to La on 14th of may we want a big big vulger luxury car.I first thought an suv would be good but then someone mentioned the cases would be on display which isnt a good idea on a fly drive holiday. So I am now thinking 300c station wagon or somthing like.
research so far has come up with these prices
Carhire3000.com ---- £780.56
USRentacar.co.uk ---- £705.83
Netflights.com ---- £713.00
Yescarhire.com ---- £709.80
Alamo ---- silly money
Thrifty ---- £778.30
Dollar ---- £778.00
How can we be assured we will get the car we want ? how can I get these prices any cheaper ? any codes or offers anyone know of ? Also I want to be assured the price we see is the price we pay
Any help will be apprieciated
thanks Paul
to Answer both your questions , you cannot be sure what sort of car you will get. a lot of SUV's have covers to pull over to conceal your lugguage , everyone we have hired has had tinted glass at the back , making cases hard to see. we just then stuck a towel over the top. i have probably drove in excess of 6000 miles through all parts of USA with my cases in the back of a SUV and never had a issue
SUV.s come in a lot of sizes. you can get some truly huge ones .have a look at the different sizes of particular manufacturer ...Toyota for example. i would be tempted to get a large model if there is five of you.
Aircon will be standard. have aBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
The Bellagio Fountainstry out www.usrentacar.co.uk
we have hired through them this time and so far CS has been good.
We have hired a sat nav, for £65 for 16 nights. They then send it to you beore you go and you take it with you and back and then send it back to them!0 -

Do you have your own sat nav? I bought one cheap before Christmas for myself to use here...to buy the SD card with the US maps would be less than £65 and will be mine to keep. Just a thought.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio Fountainsyeah ive actually got my own PDA with tomtom on and ive downloaded usa maps (!) but i thought it was just easier and better to rely on a company.....so then i know its the latest maps (confirmed) and i don't have to worry (one of those piece of mind things
)

The 300c would struggle to hold 4 cases, we had one a year or so ago and got 3 cases in the boot before it was full. That was the saloon though not the estate.
I believe the estate version called the dodge magnum is actually a class below the 300c. (in the same class as the dodge charger) if booked throigh carhire 3000 who use dollar.
Have you thought of Dodge Durango ( I did put a link here but it didnt work) £719 carhire3000 price is with extra driver and fuel but no sat nav. They are Huge. I have driven thousands of miles around Nevada california, Utah and Arizona without a sat nav and never had a problem using my old fashioned paper map.0 -

My partner and I are looking at 7 nights in Las Vegas in September. We are looking at flying with United Airlines with a layover in Los Angeles.
Has anyone flown this route? If so what were your experiences like and how do the planes they use rank?
Thanks in advance for your help!0 -

I been looking around as well.. today Netflights are coming back with very good quotes nearly 50£ less then yesterday
Did a quote with your details
300c Touring for 18 days from lax to lax is coming to £454.00 & £537 with their platinum package.
SUV (Dodge Durango) is coming to £508 & £590 with their platinum package
dont forget quidco 3.9%0 -
The Bellagio FountainsJust watch what sort of SUV you go for, there are 2 sizes. The 300C estate version is the "tourer", it will hold 4 decent size suitcasses. The Magnum is a pig.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
