The Fremont street experienceAlthough the feeling in a copter isnt that different to the feeling in a lght plane......you still end up holding onto the seat in front even though your head tells you that aint gonna save you if it does go down.illegitimi non carborundum0

IS this not the 300c estate/station wagon
And this is the charger saloon ?
And this is the 300c saloon ?

Sorry about pic sizes I dont know how to resize them0 -
The Bellagio FountainsWe are thinking of the magnum for our next visit.
Dont know if you saw my previous post abot the 300 touring (I didnt think they were available in the US). As the Magnum is the same chassis as the 300 can it really be that bad.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Need some advise please. Have just seen what i think is a good deal at new york new york in October. $80 a night for standard room Monday to Friday. I know a lot of advise on here about booking and cancelling later but this is non refundable so need to know if this sounds a good deal or it is better to wait. Above offer must be booked by 28 january so i'll have to make my mind up quickly.
thanks in advance.0 -
On the car thing I would assume its best to get a company that is located at airport as this would save hassle and time ? so does anyone know who is located at airport and who isnt ? Fron looking at cars available I still fancy a chrysler or dodge station wagon or maybe an a 4X4 like the Durango must be rommy for 4 big adults and large luggage0

I think you'd do better waiting -unless NY NY is the *only* hotel you want to stay at (assuming $80 is not Fri/Sat dates btw)
Everyone is at the airport-bigger sized depots than in town too so more likely to get more choice if "picking"I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

All of the major rental companies are located at the consolidated rental facility...none are at the airport itself anymore, but there's a shuttle that takes you from the airport to the rental facility for free...whether this saves time and hassle over renting at a hotel location may be debatable, but you will certainly have more of a choice renting from the airport/consolidated facility.
To get an idea of what cars are available with which companies, check their US websites for fleet details (but not to book directly, probably)...but in almost all cases they will add 'or similar' after the particular cars listed in their fleets.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I agree with duchy...the best rates for October would not be out for some time yet...have you had a look at NYNY's rate calendar for your dates to see what their normal, non-offer rates for the period are? That will give you a better idea of how good a deal it is at this point...but again, the good deals for October are quite some time away.
But at the end of the day, if it's a rate you're happy with and you'd rather just lock something in and not look back, you may choose to do that...Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI don't think it is in the same class. not with Thrifty anyway. 300C is classed as luxury and the Magnum is a full size. the Magnum is a pig, all looks and no substance. I am going to stick to my guns next time and get a Charger. I actually didn't like the 300C we had either. I own a C and the spec on the rental is nowhere as good as the standard ones in the U.K. No individual climate control, no EVIC, (the display on the dash that tells you about fuel, mileage , temp, etc) manual seat raising, no sat nav, no steering wheel radio controls, no chrome wheels, manual wing mirrors, no heated seats, and my diesel would have wiped the floor with the petrol one.
The magnum and the 300c have the same chassis (not sure you didnt read that as class)
You are right they are not in the same class but they are the same size so I thought the Magnum a good rental buy (as in value)
I still cant find an american website that shows the 300c estate, they show the 300 touring which is a top of the range saloon, whereas in the UK the the 300 touring is the estate (I think..I am even confusing myself now), and if you click on a pic of the 300 touring on the rental websites that brings up a saloon pic as well.
Chrysler.com dont have an estate in their line up either. I stand to be corrected though
The 300c I hired wasnt that great either, I actually preffered the Charger and I have booked a Charger or equivalent again this year. Dollar do the same as thrifty in letting you pick anything from the same class (which is where the magnum comes in)0
