The Bellagio FountainsI'd have the agree with your OH on this. Stayed there last september. Loved the hotel and the newly renovated room, but the pool was crazy, if you got out there mega early you might find a quiet spot, but we went out normal times and were packed in like sardines. If the Venetian is anything like the pool at the Bellagio then I would definitely stay there.
Thanks whuuf. I remember visiting the dolphin habitat a few years back and seeing the people at the Mirage pool crammed in and thinking thats my idea of hell:rotfl: Well i've booked the V, not cancelling the Mirage deal just yet to give me a few more days to decide but looking like the V will win out for the pools.
Froggit the pool at MB was great fun, but we went down really early enjoyed the wave pool and lazy river then left around 11am by which stage it was getting manic. Its just not my idea of a relaxing pool area so for that reason i wouldn't stay at MB again in the summer months. Can you tell i'm fussy when it comes to my pools:o:rotfl::starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI'd consider the Orleans or Gold Coast who are owned by the same group for similar prices and a far more frequent and quicker shuttle to the Strip.
Orleans and Gold coast are owned by Boyd Gaming and South Point is owned by Michael Gaughan, who's other property is El Cortez downtown.0 -

South Point is very nice. We stayed there last year for a few days. I would not consider it without a car though. I think it's about eight miles south of Mandalay Bay.0 -
The Sirens of TIPebblesmax,
What is the attraction of South Point, heard of it, never been there just wondering if I have missed something?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsTrust, it's a nice property, large and airy, not smoky. They do have a large arena where they have horse shows and things. They also have the statue of Benny Binion that used to be downtown. Nothing special apart from that.
I wouldn't make a special trip to see the place, but we stayed there over Memorial day weekend last year to avoid the chaos on the strip. The rooms were very nice and they had Bath and Bodyworks toiletries in the room. If you have a car, or don't want to bother with the strip, it's fine. If you like the strip it's far too far away.0 -

It's also got a bowling alley and cinema. Agree with pebbles that it's a nice property and very open and airy...when we've stopped in there it's usually been a pretty calm place - not crowded, good selection of slots if that's your thing.
Doubt we would stay there as we do like being on the strip - even though we always have a car, we like the option to walk out of our hotel and to others in a fairly short distance...I think we'd feel isolated there.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsIt was ideal for us for Mem day weekend, but I'm like you ferf, I like to be able to walk somewhere else if I feel like it.0

The Sirens of TII shouldn't have mentioned it,
I just sat down last year and said is it worth flying from london, or use cardiff,
So Vegas/States Via AMS
China via AMS
Unless there is a cheap flight, but as mentioned before I do not seem to get full flights, last couple of times, I have checked in last minute and asked the checkin person about empty seats, touch wood I have had four, and the same up to a point in Vegas, $20/$50 dollar trick is good, but if you are polite you get the same results.(Only my opinion so please don't shoot me down)
100 degrees in Vegas all week, bet they have all those damn water jet things on around the place, which gives out the water vapours, cools you down for a second.
Thanks Pebblemax for the info, I will give it a miss! see it pays to ask and listen on this site, I could have wasted some valuable VEGAS time.0 -

have you guys ever stayed at Sunset Station? That's the way off strip hotel/casino that I keep saying I'd like to try for a night. It's right by Galleria Mall and WalMart...In-n-Out is walkable and we like the casino...but whenever we've looked the prices haven't really justified a 'just to try it out' sort of thing for us.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
