The Bellagio FountainsI'd do Vegas/Mexico again in a heartbeat, it was a great holiday. We did 7 nights in each which was perfect, i wouldn't shorten it though. We found the travel to be ok, no real difference to a normal transatlantic trip tbh. Flight to Vegas was with Virgin so we arrived there early afternoon and left at something like 6 am on the last day. We flew to Cancun and arrived there late afternoon/early evening so all in all it was 6 full days in each place which i felt was more than enough. We were so exhausted from vegas we slept most of the way to Mexico so felt really recharged by the time we arrived which was good because i did every activity and excursion going there- so much for rest and relaxation :rotfl: As much as i loved Mexico i couldn't do more than a week there as i think i'd be bored so combining it with a week in Vegas was perfect for me and i'm so glad we did it. Would definitely do it again if i could get a good deal:D
Sorry the V/P promos don't cover your dates. Keep an eye on https://www.smartervegas.com and http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/travel-deals/704925/?start=2300 for deals.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
I'd definitely look at something a little more central-pricewise Bill's and the Imperial Palace would give you a similar price and a better location so less walking if you're not locked into a hotel deal already with a package. They are all closer to the nicer casinos too. The venetian and Ceasers are both really close -the nearest nice one (although it's one of my favourites) to CC is the WynnI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

At the moment our first 3 nights are booked at the Mirage but we're thinking of changing it to the V. My main concern with Mirage is i like a nice relaxed pool area to spend time in every morning and i'm worrying Mirage will be too busy and crowded for that. OH thinks we should go with V for the nice pool areas and keep Mirage for a December trip when it won't be an issue but i'm not sure. Theres a V promo for $109 for our dates which expires tomorrow so i need to decide quickly if i'm going to change-any feedback would be really appreciated:D
I'd have the agree with your OH on this. Stayed there last september. Loved the hotel and the newly renovated room, but the pool was crazy, if you got out there mega early you might find a quiet spot, but we went out normal times and were packed in like sardines. If the Venetian is anything like the pool at the Bellagio then I would definitely stay there.0 -

It's a bit isolated although a nice hotel according to friends who have stayed there.
I'd consider the Orleans or Gold Coast who are owned by the same group for similar prices and a far more frequent and quicker shuttle to the Strip.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

The Bellagio FountainsPersonally I really like the Orleans. If pool is important, it is better than Gold Coast. If location is more important, at Gold Coast you have Palms and Rio within walking distance, otherwise have to rely on the shuttles for both (or taxis). Both great properties, definitely you should consider if on a budget.0

The Sirens of TIAnyone flown from Cardiff before?
So is the Paris Hotel better than Planet Hollywood hotel?
Hi Lumines
Did anyone answer your questions about Cardiff?
I use it all the time, only issue with Vegas, is
Cardiff to AMS to MSP to Vegas, which adds up to 17hours of travelling
I have done it often, MSP is a good airport plenty of food choices
NWA food I have mentioned before can be very dodgy :wall:, at all levels and yes I am talking from experience so use the food places in Amsterdam(AMS) and Minneapolis Saint Pauls (MSP) they are a luxury
Lounge in Cardiff is called I think 51, and it is a basic lounge with drinks/snacks etc
AMS is fine fair choice
The USA lounges are slightly better
Anything else please shout, enjoy your trip
Personally I would pick Paris over PH everytime!:beer:0 -
The Secret GardenI live about 30 minutes drive from Cardiff Airport but to go to Vegas have always driven to Gatwick to get the direct flight. I've never considered flying from Cardiff and using connecting flights, I hate the travelling so just want to get there.0

Pools - Ive never stayed there, and see my comments about the hotel location earlier, but from what Ive seen, you cant beat the Mandalay Bay pool and "beach".illegitimi non carborundum0 -
The Sirens of TIStew, understand your logic, mine is 3 hours to Gatwick 3hours back down not much difference, are you 10hours direct flight,
And of course the added carpark charges, but that is another story or even severn bridge tolls!!!!0 -

I agree we love the Orleans for the facilities and the shuttle is really good but the one downside is pretty much nothing is walkable apart from an Irish bar and a Walgreens/Starbucks. The Palms is one of my favourite casinos and I really like the Rio buffet (not so keen on the food at Gold Coast-Orleans does it better-their breakfast buffet is a bargain).
The renovated rooms at the GC are very nice although I'm quite happy with the slightly retro Orleans rooms and how spacious they are.
Now if they moved the Orleans to the Gold Coast site.....I might never stay on Strip againI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
