10 hours and all the rest. I have to fly from NE Scotland first and hang around till our flight leaves LHR. Then we have a connection in LAX so something like 17-18 hours and that's without the couple of hours hanging about before our first flight.

Was it the $82 tickets you got? I found a site selling them tonight at $82 + $11 convenience charge. Did you have fees on top of the ticket price?

    Yes - $81.75 & $11.

I think this was for best seats & standing tickets.

What site? Just be careful you read alot of stories of people getting ripped off but if you're happy with it then go for it!!

    18 hours OMG!!

We hate flying, both of us are just scared - pure & simple but we realise that to get great holidays you need to go with it.

Nah, not going to go with that site as they would probably have to send the tickets out and I'm not trusting it.

I too hate flying, not because I'm scared, but because I finding it so incredibly boring. Like the previous posters I'm constantly looking to see how much longer we have to tolerate it.

I like to sleep as much as I can, but sometimes I only manage a couple of hours.

We are going via LAX so that we get the main bit over and done with and only have a 45 min flight to Vegas.

** Edit - Do you think the concert will start on time at 8pm or will there be a support act on first. We will be pushing it to get there for 8.

Only a guess but I'd say support at 8.00 - Killers at 9.00-9.15.

Been thinking about the poll... What about peoples fave Cirque De Soile show? This would give people like me an idea about which is the most popular as its a question that gets asked quite a bit what do you think? Just came to me as I was thinking about which one (or 2) I fancied going to see in Sept, we went to see KA last time and thought it was brill. Only downside is people like myself who have only seen one cant really vote as we dont have anything to compare it to but I think quite a few of you have seen most of them. :)

Having to seriously think about this Killers gig.

Last trip the flight was 45 mins late leaving LAX then it took 20 mins to get to the carousel and another 25 mins for the luggage to appear. It was another 30 mins queuing for a taxi.

Even if the flight was on time, it would be 7.15pm before we left the airport.

Rather than go to Paris and check in, find the room, dump the bags and get back down for a taxi, I'm thinking we would be better getting a taxi straight to Mandalay Bay from the airport and leaving the bags with the bell desk.

However, mu other consideration is how tired we'll be. By the time the concert starts we will have been up for 26 hours and I don't do tired and jetlagged very well.

    Decisions, decisions........

We booked Bette Midler the night our flight landed last October as it was the last day she was playing before taking a break - so only chance to see her during our trip and MIL really, really wanted to see Bette.

I dozed off several times...not because it was boring, but because I was just knackered. I suppose a live rock concert might have done a better job keeping me awake, but I am not so sure.

The other consideration for me at least would be a shower - I feel awful when I get off a plane, just grubby...we had time to shower and change before Bette (and grab a bite to eat and have a bit of a wander). Personally, unless it was my favorite band or act ever I couldn't do it straight off the plane...especially with timing being fairly tight - I think we had about 5 hours from the time our flight was scheduled to land until we had to be at will call to collect the tickets...flight was delayed, but not by much - the flights earlier in the week were all delayed long enough that had we flown any other day that week we wouldn't have made it in time.

Actually, that's something else to maybe look into - I know that when we've booked through ticketmaster the only option has been will call since we're buying tickets as international customers, and they had to be picked up no later than 1 hour before the show. May be different for concerts though, but worth checking.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Yes, lack of a shower had crossed my mind too, but we'd go armed with Impulse and Lynx!

I'm not at all familiar with Ticketmaster and can't remember ever buying tickets from them. However I thought when I looked at the site last night that you could print the tickets yourself.

I would be happy for someone for confirm or deny this.

Managed to speak to hubby this morning. (He was asleep when I was having an excited panic last night). He thinks it's worth going for it and risk losing the money if we don't make it.

Still undecided and appreciate others' thoughts.

    Thanks ferf.

    .

I had a look at Lion King (figuring it was at MB so maybe the same ticket situation) and for US customers yes, you can print your tickets...for international customers other than Canada who can have them posted but can't print them, only option was will call. It may well be different for tickets to a concert though.

I suppose how much you want to see the Killers comes into it more than anything (I love how you got the excited panic I get that all the time and hubby just looks at me gone out!) I really want to see a concert when we go Vegas were there 14th-23rd Sept but the Killers isnt really my thing I like them but not enough to go see them. That would be proper hardcore if you did 18 hour travelling then a concert but if it keeps you awake it might help you get over the jet lag?

Also I keep looking on various website but if anyone could give me a heads up on here about any concerts that will be on over my dates in Sept it would be very much appreciated! :)
