BTW, we thought that Boulevard Mall had gone downhill. there were a lot of empty units, and some of our favourites had gone.

I agree and it used to be one of our stops each trip...when Dillard's closed last fall the closing sale was fantastic...but now that it's gone, Macy's is really the only draw, and you can find Macy's at various other Vegas locations that are a lot nicer.

Really, the only place that we would go back to is Old Navy now. boulevard mall has really gone downhill. Don't go there unless you have to.

    @ watpoae

I would definately recommend the outlet at the North of the strip.

GF and I went to the one at the North, the one at the South and the one in Primm on our last trip and much preferred the one in the North, much better shops.

Regarding clubs... some of them have free passes which you can get in magazines and on leaflets etc for free entry. Some times if you go to the casino associated with the club then there are people walking around giving out free / reduced admission passes. There are also people on the street "giving away" passes for free entry and all the rest at clubs... they hand over all the passes and then ask you for a tip but I suppose if you could get away with giving them $10 and IF the passes work then its worth it.

Oh and the other thing, if you are staying in MGM you can sometimes find room deals that include free passes to Studio 54 (and the other club in there which I forget the name of) so I would assume that other casinos do similar. Or just ask when you check in if they have any passes and drop them a tip if they do, worth a try.

Saying all that I can't think why anyone would want to go into a nightclub in Vegas.... maybe i'm just getting old but the drinks are crazy expensive and there is far too much else to do than be stuck in a hot and sweaty pretentious nightclub. The only one I would go back to is the Voodoo Lounge in Rio.... its on the 50th Floor, is outside and has amazing views over Vegas. You should easily get free entry to this - someone else might be kind enough to post the link for free tickets..

Unfortunately this is the common reaction with the malls around vegas, lots of the stores are looking at the terms of their lease, and they have two major reasons for doing so,
1, People are not spending the Bucks,
2, Crystals opening later this year, common reaction something new will attract the people.
Crystals are offering as you can imagine very favourable rates at the moment to attract as they do not want any stores vacant and at present the take up rate is not looking that good.
(Same works for staffing, what is it 10,000 people to work in city centre, and they will poach/attract the best)

I agree on all counts - Voodoo Lounge is the only one we've considered going to and still haven't made it. :) Then again, taking club advice from me would never, ever be recommended as I hate them.

    Free passes are here:

Check the T&Cs once you receive the voucher though.

we went to the mall up the north end/downtown. nik ended up buy just 7 new pairs of shoes. We got loads of clobber from Ralph Lauren, 2 pairs of jeans for me, a pair for nik, and 2 polo tops each, with the $50 discount the whole lot came to around $200.
Diesal and Lacoste were a bit cheaper than back home but the range and choice of gear in the shops there seemed limited. The only other item i bought were some old skool adidas shell toes.

Regarding clubbing, we thought about going to LAX or Mix but never got round to it. Got talking to some lads out there who paid a bloke $100 for 'VIP entry' to LAX only to find out when they got to the entrance that the ticket they had in had was worthless and matey had absolutely no affiliation to LAX or Luxor at all.

Still havent got round to writing anything down about our trip. loads of photos online if you want to take a look, i'll build the story around those when i have time. (Some of these galleries have been posted previously)

Anyone ever used the $20 trick, having booked through a travel company. We are travelling to SF, Hawaii and LV with United Vacations. Arriving in vegas labor day weekend, what do you think our chances are?
