Been thinking today about our trip next year as we starting a little planning now.

We were gonna stay in vegas for 7 nights then head off on a mini road trip to LA and then stay there for a few days.

But seen a post here that people are going to Hawaii and that has given me an idea. We stay in vegas for 7 days off to Hawaii and then back on our road trip. Maybe a 2-3 day in Hawaii just for look as we doubt we go there again for a good few years.

Anyone done this and what sort of price would we be looking at? For those flights and days out there

The MGM is not the best for the $20 trick and it's even been said that they are not allowed to accept it. I tried it the first time we stayed there, got nothing and the clerk kept the $20.

You should check the hotel website for the clubs you are interested in for their dress code which is strictly adhered to. Some may allow jeans as long as they're nor ripped.

We prefer the Premium Outlets at the north end of the strip. You can either sign up to their VIP Shopper to get a coupon for a VIP coupon book or you can print one from https://www.destinationcoupons.com

Try Virgin Holidays as they do a Vegas/Hawaii 2 centre. Hawaii is a lllooongg way from Vegas for just a couple of days.

And finally.. what are the best outlets for real bargains? Ideally after levis, lacoste, ralph lauren, adidas originals, armani amongst others. I have a shortlist of:

    http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=61

    http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=58

    http://www.boulevardmall.com/html/index2.asp

Which one of these is best to hit first?

    Many thanks

I'd go for THIS outlet for what you're looking for. I don't think the other one has Lacoste, Ralph Lauren and Armani.

So jealous of your long trips - when's the next one?

Luci - agree, we've never tried $20 at check in either at MGM as most people say that they have no luck there as staff not allowed to accept.....

Watpoae if you scroll back to yesterdays posts there was some discussion about upgrades and how to go about asking for one. Also you can read about peoples experiences with the $20 trick at MGM here:

Have a look on the MGM website and familiarise yourself with the room types so you know what you're aiming for and what you would be happy with. For example a westwing room is considered an upgrade but some don't like this room type as its a lot smaller than the Grand Tower room and the bathroom isn't totally private:

As far as outlets go my favourite is the premium outlet near downtown and it has all the stores you've mentioned. The Las Vegas outlet centre south of Mandalay Bay isn't as good imo, and i've never been to the Boulevard Mall so can't comment on that.

    October 13th to November 17th 2009. A bit shorter this time.:rotfl:

I'm working on a TR, but not getting very far. I promise I'll do one eventually.

I wanna go, blooming 9 months yet - it feels like forever! At least the dollar rate appears to be getting slowly better (now I've said it) :rotfl:

Look forward to your trip report :D

BTW, we thought that Boulevard Mall had gone downhill. there were a lot of empty units, and some of our favourites had gone.

The one to go to is definitely the North one nearest to Downtown.

We had a trip to the Blvd. mall while waiting to go on Mystery Adventure. I nearlly lost the will to live in that place, ans someone had better keep an eye on the people who work there, they seem to be going the same way.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
