    Hi guys

Does anyone know where in Vegas, other than the hotels, offers free Wifi? I was thinking of places like Starbucks and similar.

The answer may be in this thread, but wading through 100+ pages of the thread does not hold much appeal.

    Thanks

    I

After an anxious 2 weeks, my flights have finally been ticketed. I have gone onto the United site and found that I have the option to upgrade to Economy Plus for $97 each way. As far as I can make out, this just entitles us to up to 5" extra legroom, no free drinks or anything, nearer the front of the plane.

Does anyone know if this is worth doing, even just on the return leg? Or can you point me to any websites where it would be discussed.

if its from LHR to Las Vegas direct then YES YES YES its worth it just for the leg room.

not strictly Vegas, but here's a few pics from our journey to LA and our first day. A trip to Universal Studios. Too tired to write up teh day, but the pics tell everything. Simpsons ride, Terminator 3d, mummy and jurrasic park were quality.

Weather in LA is crap, left better weather behind in England! :o(

    Question for ferf.

I've just read a review of Bally's on TA where it was stated that they charge for use of the in-room safe. Is this correct as I thought they were free in all Vegas hotels?

They do charge $3/day for the in-room safe. I did read somewhere that at the back of the safe is a telephone line running into it which effectively tells the reservations system that you've used it so it will charge you...so if that telephone line would happen to become unplugged *wink wink* the guest wouldn't be charged. I haven't tried it myself though!

I'm sure other hotels we've stayed in in Vegas have charged for the safe but can't remember which as we never use them.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Thanks. We would probably use it for peace of mind although we've managed perfectly well without one at the IP by locking valuables in the cases.

saw this at Open Vegas and I know plenty of people here regularly use the current Deuce bus...so this is probably of some interest.

Just this minute back indoors from LV. God I am kn*****d!!...LOL

Room at IP was 8mx5m so no problems there, but the whole place needs a good going over. Easily the most worn of the hotels we visited. And the lifts were like russian roulette, whether the lift came back down to the Lobby level or not.

Internet acess reminded me of dial-up ten years ago. Considering the US is supposedly the major player in the world, their internet sucks big time. We tried several times to log-in and I honestly think they work on steam!

Flamingo buffet the best value, and we ate at several places

But as for the mexican creeps with the "girly" cards on the sidewalks outside the hotels, I seriously wanted to smack "em.

I will post a TR probably tomorrow or Monday

ps. we booked the basic compact car as part of the Virgin deal, and I said as we landed that I wished I had booked a better/bigger car.

Whe we got to the Dollar rent site , they said take whatever car you want within this area..?

I took a Dodge charger, not exactly the muscle car of the late 70"s, but good enough.

    what a place to visit!!!!!
