Lorraine's photos reminded me of this site which may be helpful...it's not completely comprehensive (Lorraine's IP photos are of a king room, the ones on this site are of a 2-queen room, etc.)...but it may be of some use.

    http://www.vegascasinoinfo.com/hotelrm_pics.html

Above each picture there may be a further description - like the Paris rooms say they are a P room...Bellagio photos are of a suite, Bally's say they are north tower (and go to show what I mean about being spoiled by room size there!)

Thanks for the link - thats a great help!

We are booking up for next year, going on Honeymoon in May. We probably will wait til January to get a BA/Virgin flight. But we are going to stop in a few different hotels this time.

Las time we stayed in a Deluxe Luv Tub room at the IP, which IMO was actually very good. way better than the rooms back in this thread - and way nicer looking than a lot of the rooms on the link at Ballys, Paris and even a lot of the upper end hotels.

I think for the money, IP is a good deal, we got the upgrade with the $20 trick last time, so really good value. I have also stayed at Stratosphere, about 4 years ago and the room was very good - looks nice on that link too.

So, anyway, getting to my question:

Where should I stay on a 3 hotel Honeymoon (7-9 days?), I am thinking perhaps start at the south end, then mid-strip, then a really nice hotel for a few nights?

Also, I assume it makes sense to start at the lower quality hotel, then get better as the trip goes on? Don't fancy downgrading mid trip.

Thanks for all the advce, cannot wait now, and its a year off!!!!!:rotfl:

Definitely start with the lower end room and work up. Offers for May should start coming out at the end of January/beginning of February. Book direct with the hotel on a promo code for the best deals.

I think you are wise to work your way up as you go on - downgrading could be a bit of a mistake, though sometimes I think even a so-so room in an area you like can be better than a great room in an area you don't...maybe?

In any event, I would personally recommend Encore for the really nice hotel...I loved that room so much...since it's pretty far north it's would possibly work geographically too - not too close to some of the others you may consider.

I haven't stayed at Palazzo/Venetian, The Hotel or Signature, though...which may be other options you'll consider for the upper end...Bellagio rooms are nice enough, and the lakeview is spectacular...but otherwise didn't seem worth the money to us where Wynn and Encore both did.

Yes I would also recommend the Encore for your upscale hotel, really lovely. They normally have a 2 night minimum stay with their offers. The Palazzo is very nice too and not so far north.

I have found that it is only worth moving for a minimum of 3 nights. Any less than that and it isn't worth unpacking when you have one or two week's clothes to put away.

Thanks for the quick replies - I figured after Xmas would be the time to look properly. I am definitely booking direct thanks to the deals and info on here - last 2 times went Expedia, which was ok, but more money.

I did notice on Expedia tonight the new Aria Hotel in the City Centre (this was 1/4 built last June when I saw it) which is 5 star too.

I think I will pencil in to look at Palazzo or Encore for the 'treat' last 3 nights.

I'll throw The Signature into the mix for you, stayed there in March for three nights and it was fantastic, not quite on the strip (back of MGM) but very nice luxury. I've not tried the Encore or Palazzo yet so I can't compare them for you i'm afraid. I'll post links for offers for them as and when I get them.

If you're working your way up the Strip my suggestions would be start with Mandalay Bay (or the Palms if you want off Strip) then something middish Strip-my choice would be the Venetian and finish at the Wynn.
