I would also stick with the IP if only for the location. The MGM rooms are better.

My tuppence worth, I would bin NYNY, not that I've ever stayed there, but I've never really fancied it. Book the MGM deal and stick with the IP.

Most of the MGM offers are for Player Club card holders, but that's not a problem. Either sign up on line or when you get to the MGM, but before checking in, and pick up your card there.

I've never been asked to show my Player's Card and I've only once read of someone who was asked for it and the clerk wouldn't check them in until they'd picked it up. But that's all they had to do, pick up the card and the deal was honoured.

You don't say when you are there or how long for at each hotel.

Ok until Luci comes along have you tried for starters:
    https://www.expedia.co.uk
    https://www.kayak.co.uk
    https://www.netflights.com

What dates are you looking at?

also try all the transatlantic airlines own websites

    BMI , US Airways , AA , Delta , United , Continental ect .

and read the main threads guide to getting cheap flights

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-flights

anything £300 -£400 is probably worth booking up straight away , waiting usually ( but not always ) see's the price increase .

be warned New Year in Vegas can be expensive
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    Thats what we did Luci
Applied online for the players club.....printed off the confirmation email.....then booked the players club deal for our stay.....when we switched hotels from the IP to the MGM we went to the Players Club desk first before we checked in to collect the card.....not that we were asked for it on check in

I would do the same, though I haven't stayed at any of the 3...I've not really heard much great about NYNY...and have heard repeatedly that the rooms are quite small...at least at MGM there's loads and loads on the property to do though it can be quite a haul getting from one place to the other inside there.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

and exactly the same for us just the other week.

MGM - ordered the card online, picked up before we checked in. Checked in on a fabolous players club deal, ie $49 a night and was never even asked for it at all!

Whatever you do make sure you've checked hotel prices before booking flights...as trets said, Vegas is very expensive over new year - it's probably the most expensive time of the year, and the crowds will mean a lot of long waits in queues for meals, etc. It is an exciting time to be in Vegas, but having done it once we would never do it again. :)

I stayed at NY NY and loved it . we had a standard room and it was fine , much bigger than the room @ MGM Grand funkyfin2000 posted earlier .

size wise the rooms were about the size of rooms at the Mirage . i would stay there again if the price was right .
