    Hi Luci -

As far as Ballys rooms being a hike - the south tower (unrenovated rooms) entrance is right by the main entrance/valet...from there it's a pretty quick walk to cross Flamingo at the light and cross over to Bill's and points northwards. The north tower rooms lifts are the ones that are further back, but the rooms are nicer (check TA for traveller photos - you can quickly see the difference in the room types - upgrades to the north tower seem pretty easy to get)...even with the extra walk to the north tower elevators it's really not that far - at least it isn't for us...maybe since it's a straight shot and you can see where you are going it doesn't seem so long.

To get out to the strip in front of Bally's itself is a bit of a pain if you follow the directions - up a lift, onto the moving walkway which seems to take forever even if you walk it and then it spits you out on the strip, where you can go up and over to Bellagio, Bills, etc...but the short cut going out the main entrance and crossing Flamingo works great if you're going north. If going south, we go through Paris as it's shorter than going out to the front of Bally's. Bellagio is really the only property that it seems a bit of a faff to get to for us - as no matter which way you go it's a bit of a haul even though it's across the street.

And yeah, if you have a booking against a TR card, it won't let you book again with the same TR card for the same dates, or even dates around...I assume so people can't double up on reduced rates based on their TR account.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Thanks. I see what you mean about going north or south rather than out the front opposite the Bellagio.

I just called Bally's and asked about booking two hotels. She said I could book the second one using a differenet TR number and offered to check availability. I agree even though I didn't think there would be a problem this far out. However our first night isn't available and I got the same message when I checked availability using hubby's TR number.

Might try again in a couple of weeks. Just wondering why a Saturday night in September would be fully booked already?

I think it's a glitch in the system - I checked on our accounts just to see if I could see anything and all of Bally's room types are showing as unavailable that date whereas all of the other HET hotels show availability...but if you look at their regular room reservations (without logging in) there is no problem booking that night.

Thanks. I might try again in a couple of days then and see if the glitch is sorted out.

The girl did offer to book for us and mentioned the $10 "processing fee". I asked if this was something new and she said it was. Still debatable whether you pay it for booking online, but I can't book to find out!

Well, the pictures on Flickr seem to have dried up this week so I've just added a few more from our trip last July / Aug.

There's some of the Bellagio conservatory and I have also included a few of the Blue Butterfly B&B in Yosemite as a few people seemed to be interested in this place. Hope that's OK as it's not exactly Vegas !

Remember to resize your pictures before uploading them, will save you LOADS of time if there's a lot of them.

If you want a quick way of doing them in batches, take a look at this post:

Or use this, I use it all the time on websites I look after.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
