This time next week I'll be in Vegas!!!0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI think the hotel room tax increase has been mentioned before - but noticed this when making our booking.
Please be advised that the State of Nevada has changed the room tax
structure effective July 1, 2009. Any reservations booked which
include or extend past this date will be subject to a total room
tax of 12% per night. The new tax rate of 12% will be charged each
night of your stay in the hotel and may not be reflected in the
room and tax calculations previously quoted for your reservation
arriving on or extending past July 1, 2009.
It's the last bit that caught my eye...it makes sense, that if you made a reservation previously and the tax rate goes up, the total cost of the reservation will have to increase as well...but just thought I'd post it in case anyone falls into the category of having booked previously for a stay after 1st July.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

thanks, we're out in LA & Vegas for a total of 18 nights.
so might only be a brief daily synopsis of things, mainly down to a) not remembering everything, and b) not wanting to bore the pants off everyone.
More likely to be posting pics every few days or so rather than writing it all down, the first batch are likely to be posted from the virgin clubhouse thrursday lunchtime0 -

Just finishing off packing for our trip on Thursday. Only got home 4 weeks ago but still as excited as ever. We have a Go room at Flamingo for 3 nights then the big one, a resort suite at encore for 3 nights. I relented on changing hotels during a trip for that one, but won't be making a habit of it;)The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI am toying with changing our current booking of 11 nights at Paris and 2 at the Carriage House to 5 nights at Bally's, 5 at Paris and 3 at the Carriage House.
Hubby is concerned that the rooms at Bally's look quite far back from the strip and could be a bit of a hike.
I appreciate that they are next door to one another, but I'm considering it as I like to try different hotels and Bally's is also a third less than Paris over the 5 nights.
I would appreciate anyone's thoughts.
I did actually try to book Bally's so I could lock in the rates while I decide, but it won't let me seeing as we already have a booking at Paris for those dates.
PS I read elsewhere that some Harrah's properties, Flamingo in particular, are now charging a $10 fee per stay. It's unclear whether it is a resort fee or a booking fee.0
