To be honest it is just a room, we dont plan on spending too much time there apart from sleeping.

Longest break we have had in 15 years so we are not going to waste any time in a hotel room, but the location is the main thing.

There are a few posters on here who have stayed at the IP several times and are more than happy with it so don't be put off. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

I've never stayed at either so can't offer any personal experience, but i much preferred MGM out of the two from visiting both. Obviously staying there gives you a better experience so hopefully someone will come along to offer advise. There is no resort fee at MGM by the way, and have you checked the MGM promo that gives you the daily access to the buffet? Location wise Flamingo has a great location mid strip, MGM is further south.

Here's the link to both hotels on TA. Have a look at the travellers photos to compare rooms and pools and see which one you like the look of most:

MGM is a massive hotel and grading wise a little higher than the Flamingo-however for location I much prefer the Flamingo plus the pool(s) there are really nice -although are likely to be busy. I find MGM too big-I don't want a long trek to my room-it's enough of a walk on the Strip ;)
I actually had this choice in April and went for the Flamingo-admittedly a Go room v an MGM standard room-went for the Flamingo and no regrets.
    Both are nice hotels though

    Hi guys,

Love the thread! I'm spending 2 weeks in june touring the southwest and will be in vegas from 26th to 29th June. I'm going with a mate and we are undecided between two offers.

    1. NYNY $100 Offer
    Skyline Room
    3 nights $359.97
    - Strip View Upgrade
    - 2 Complimentary Welcome Cocktails
    - $25 Retail Credit
    - 2 for 1 Breakfast at Il Fornaio
    - 2 for 1 Spa Pass
    - 2 for 1 Roller Coaster Pass

    2. Monte Carlo - Summer Escape 2009 Offer
Strip View Deluxe Room - $383.00
    2-for-1 Buffet at Monte Carlo
2-for-1 II Fornaio Breakfast at NYNY
2-for-1 drinks at BRAND Steakhouse inside Monte Carlo
2-for-1 ROK Vegas™ Admission at NYNY
2-for-1 Roller Coaster passes at NYNY
2-for-1 Lance Burton Tickets at Monte Carlo
2-for-1 Spa Admission at Monte Carlo
35% off Zumanity™ Tickets at NYNY

Can anyone offer any advice here as to standard/value etc?

Also, I'm a little worried at the fact that you cannot guarantee a 2-bed room at any hotel on the strip (as far as I can see). Has anyone had any problems with this (eg stuck with one king bed?).

Finally, we are thinking of doing this for the Saturday night

    Anyone done this?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks for your help :)

I stayed at the Monte Carlo six weeks ago and found it very nice, you need to request a room away from the construction next door which is still going on but I enjoyed my two night stay there. Also Lance Burton is a fantastic magician, in the words of a magician friend of mine 'The magicians magician'

I've never had a problem getting a room with two beds in Vegas in over ten visits (and sometimes having stayed in more than one hotel per visit). Not likely to be an issue at all (I'd say never an issue but then *someone* will post to say it was for THEM :) )

Not exactly very helpful and constructive advise is it:rolleyes:

There are nicer ways of getting your point across. And while the hotel is certainly not my cup of tea many people have stayed there and are happy with it, same goes for a hotel like the Imperial Palace. So unless a poster asks for advise on their choice of hotel what is the point in giving it?

Geez Claire, lighten up will you ?

I am only trying to help the person from making a mistake.
