Ferf, can you explain what you mean by "picking and choosing the flights"? Please explain slowly as I can't read very fast!

I priced AA both with kayak and direct and agree their fares were OTT so I have discounted them. However if there is a way to get them cheaper I would reconsider.

If I remember correctly, on AA's website you can choose to search by price or by schedule...I think it's if you choose the by schedule option that it brings up the various flight options for each leg of your trip - pick the flights you're happy with and select them and then see what the prices are like.

For ours they were about £1300 on kayak and AA's website choosing by price...once we selected the individual flights we wanted it dropped to £475!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Thanks. I just tried that and it came out about the same price for my dates. :(

Speak about doing things back to front. I've just booked the Carriage House for our last 2 nights as they have laundry facilties.

Thinking about booking Paris on the LCI deal as that is the only hotel that is showing for LCI.

I tried emailing them about that about two weeks ago - Paris and Rio were the only ones that worked on the LCI deal even though all the Vegas HET hotels were all still showing on the main page....the contact us email address bounced. :(

Thanks for the comments re NYE. I appreciate any feedback.

It's very up in the air at the moment as I would like to get September booked first. It looks like I may be booking the hotels first and the flight next week as the flight price went up today so I'm hoping it will come down if I leave it a few days.

Does anyone know which days are cheapest for booking flights? I imagine a lot of people would be looking and booking at the weekend.
We are already booked for September thanks to a link that ferf mentioned earlier via netflights. But having a look on the U.K. site of United 16th-24th September comes up at £316 each going LHR-ORD-LAS. Gets you in Vegas before 2pm as well.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Thanks, but going from Aberdeen adds another £100 each to the fare and flying at the weekend, to maximise our days off work, adds another £60.

However Netflights were cheaper than Kayak. I guess I'll just have to keep looking.

Which dates are you there stoneman? I bet we just miss you again.

    16th to the 24th. I don't know about a meet, don't think I could keep up with the drinking:beer:
    God, was that libellous?;)

Oooo, we're looking at 19 Sept to 2 Oct so a meet is possible if you're up for it (or up to it!). Where are you staying?

Just booked Paris for the first 7 nights. Just about to book it for the next 4 if it will let me as you can only book up to 7 nights online. Then it's flat out looking for offers, although this time I may just stay in one place, or two counting the Carriage House.

I am pig sick. I just checked Travel Supermarket for flight and thought I'd found a right bargain. £321 with a company called Major Travel flying with KLM/NWA, compared with the next cheapest at £443.

Clicked through to the company and still got the same price, entered my details, clicked and noticed the price had jumped to £403 each. Still the cheapest, but no way would I book with them for trying to mislead.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.
