    Hi folks

Just to let you know, there's been some discussion regarding the number of stickies on this board, so for a trial period, we're looking to unstick this thread and see how things work out.

The reason for choosing this thread is that due to its popularity and frequency of new posts, it'll usually (if not always) be on P1/2 of the board.

Additionally as most posts are from regulars, they'll no doubt be subscribed to the thread which of course can be easily accessed from the subscriptions page (Quick Links > Subscribed Threads).

We've already unstuck both currency threads which is working well - in fact for the past couple of days both have been on P1 of the board.

Ok I am prepared to be shot down in flames / abused / shouted at for daring to post this....... but have you considered a coach trip to the Grand Canyon ?

That way you get to stop at places, and stand on the edge.

Of course the afficianadoes on here will say its not the real Grand Canyon, its owned by Indians and its commercial, blah blah... we liked it !

    We prefered it.

looked into the coach thing as liked the odea that it stopped at the hoover dam etc but the wife (she will be by then!) quite likes the idea of heli/airplane, i like the idea of flying to the south rim then a coach round that part of things.

What do poeople think, chepaer to book on the internet before we go or whjen we get there?

I don't think it matters in cost, I booked our trip a few months before we went so I knew that it was booked and it wouldn't "fill up" as it were. I would reccomend booking it for one of the days early in the holiday though as they can cancel flights due to bad weather. We used Scenic Airlines, they did a deluxe tour that included pick up from Hotel, flight to Canyon, Imax and coach trip round the Canyon and return back to the hotel, they were really good.

No probs Crabman. We promise not to throw our toys out of the pram like the u.s. currency thread chappies;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

in las vegas for last leg of honeymoon in mid June

Been looking at grandcanyon trips on the internet and was wondering if it tends to be cheaper to book in advance on the net or wait until we are out there. Would there be 2for 1 deals or just the typicak X% off that we would have got on the net?

for a south rim airplane and bus tour about 7-8hrs looking at $240 incl fees (papillion)

or just airplane into the west rim $120 each incl fees (3.5hrs).

With another company can do airplane to north rim and abit of time on a ranch for $220

    Thanks

    John

you might find cheaper when you get there, but ones things for sure you will have little problem finding a trip . just remember the cheaper it is the more travelling under your own steam you will need to do .

Personally i would wait , unless i had a very specific time and date in mind

2 for 1 might be optimistic though

When the sticky disappeared I thought I had lost this thread forever! Luckily I found it before I had a major panic atack. We just need to keep posting to keep it on page 1.
