We are going to Las Vegas in June and we would all like to see the Jersey Boys. Can anyone tell me if these tickets are available at the discount booths and also if they will let my 11 year old son in to see it. Thank you.0

That's great news then, we are there early July and current rates are £120.00 per room sao will just keep our fingers crossed. I think we will go to the casin too to register here to get an LVI card before we go as i am a bit paranoid too. Somesone said on here if they asked for the card and we didn't have it we would have to pay full rack rate- on the other hand someone else posted on here that they weren't asked at check in for a card as the reservations clerk said the screen at check in doesn't show the rate you are getting. All your hints and tips are gobbldy gook to me I'm afraid, I have never gambled except 50p on the grand national! I would love to have a go but am nervous, do you have any advice for a novice so I don't end up to the eye teeth in debt on my card!!0

Jersey Boys wasn't listed in April when this picture was taken...

Palazzo's website says:
OFFICIAL AGE RECOMMENDATION
Jersey Boys contains smoke, gun shots, strobe lights, "authentic Jersey language" and is not recommended for children under the age of 12. We do encourage patrons to use these notes as deciding factors for the enjoyment of the performance for their children. No one under the age of 5 will be permitted in the theatre, and everyone must have a ticket.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Many casinos offer free lessons for things like craps, blackjack, roulette...so perhaps consider looking into those? I suppose the safest bet would be to learn basic strategy for blackjack (they sell strategy cards in most hotel gift shops which you can use at the table if you want)...but most of the strip hotels have $5 or $10 minimums, so may be too expensive. As for the penny slots, you can try some of them for free at some of the UK online casinos like this one:

Lil Lady, Wolf Run, Cleopatra, and Davinci Diamonds are 'real' slots you will see in Vegas. It can be confusing, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy...most important thing is to be sure you know how much you are betting per spin!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

What would you like to gamble on? The best game in the casino for players is Black Jack, the house has the lowest advantage on that if played properly (except for the full odds bet on craps, but that will cost you more money in initial outlay) the problem with craps and B/J is that they take some learning. OH plays penny slots for 7 nights on $20, that's it, a whole $20 lasts her all week, she just loves pushing buttons on video poker, couldn't care less if she makes any money or not, just as long as she doesn't lose her $20:rotfl:The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Yes, I'd agree with the others that penny slots are probably the best way to start as they are the least complicated. I like the idea of trying out the free ones online first.
If you are worried about going overboard on spending then it's probably a good idea to set aside a separate gambling budget, either per day or for the whole trip. Agree on an amount that you can comfortably afford to lose and don't go over that amount. Once it's gone there are still plenty of other free things you can do in Vegas!
If you'd like to try some of the fancier table games I saw a good video on youtube showing you how to play Craps (I've not played it before but fancy giving it a go next trip). There are probably videos for the other games too - check them out.
Cheers

Excellent advice...we go with the per-day limit (otherwise it would be a disaster, I think). Ultimately we consider it entertainment money - we're prepared to lose it so long as we have fun doing so.

I got back from Vegas yesterday and found the $5 blackjack tables to be at the Tropicana, Flamingo's, Bills and O'Sheas. Although be warned that they do appear to up the minimum as the casino gets busier in my experience. They will warn you about this and it will not become effective until the next change of deck.
Also for anyone's info we stayed at the Luxor, whereas some friends stayed at Plant Hollywood. I would go for Planet Hollywood over Luxor next time for quality of hotel and location. At the end of a heavy night/morning the Luxor was just a bit too far to walk and the facilities seemed much better at Planet Hollywood.0 -
Hi,
A group of us are looking to go out to LV in October for a mates 40th birthday. A couple of us a regulars so we have a rough idea of what we want. We've done the big casinos before but we're looking to save a bit of money on the rooms this time.
We're thinking of Bills at the moment (cheap, great location and good reviews). I've had a look around but can't seem to find any promos for this hotel - do they do promos or are we better just to book directly?
Can't help with accomodation promo's but Bills had some great drink/food deals on when i was there last week (Bud pitchers 2 for $10 and Steak dinner for $5ish). Might help you a little!0 -

What was the payout for blackjack at those tables? A lot of the lower-limit tables (especially in any sort of party pit area) will be 6/5 instead of 3/2.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
