Breakfast at the SM is $14.99 and I think lunch is around $17.99.

They do freshly made crepes and also have smoothies.

I have two rooms booked for two nights at Paris. Have been reading some awful current reviews on trip advisor. Having said that, I booked it when it was on this site as a good deal back in December so we are only paying $60.00 per room per night so think it should still be worth it? Only thing is we booked it on LVI rewards and aren't members!! Is it worth cancelling to go somewhere else?

Nothing wrong with the Paris hotel, we stayed there for a week just a couple of weeks back. Very clean hotel and you also have the best location on the strip. We found it really quick and easy to get from the room to the strip, which is not the case with every hotel, MGM comes to mind.

There's certainly no harm in looking around for another deal but I'd be surprised if you get a hotel as good 'all round' (location & quality) as the Paris for $60 a night.

They have almost 3000 rooms...so chances are some of them are at the end of their useful life and in this economy I doubt many hotel operators are going to be spending a lot in renovations. The only really negative reviews I saw at TA were a) someone who had a bee in her bonnet about the smell of smoke, b) someone who normally stays at Bellagio and c) someone who says there was blood on the curtains (fair enough if that's true)...but overall the reviews are good. Main issue seems to be long queues at check-in which you'll likely encounter everywhere - they're cutting staff hours all over the place.

By all means have a look around and see if you can find anything better, but agree with Steve that that's a pretty good rate. As for not being an LCI member, personally I would be nervous about booking a rate I wasn't entitled to (but I am paranoid)...an no one who has booked those rates on here have been asked for their membership card.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

OK, Google Maps a good idea. What would be good is to find a free wi-fi location somewhere inside (or closeby) each of the main hotels on the strip, right from Mandalay Bay to Stratosphere, then a few around Freemont St.

I've made a start on a rough list for now:

Apple Store - Fashion Show Mall
    Apple Store - Caesar's
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - PH Hotel - Miracle Mile
    ESPN Zone - NYNY Hotel
    Krispy Kreme - Freemont St
    Krispy Kreme - Excalibur Hotel
Main Street Station Hotel, Lobby & Players Gold room
    McCarran Airport
MGM Signature - Hotel, Lobby & Surrounding Area
Saks Fifth Avenue - Fashion Show Mall
Sugar & Ice - Wynn Hotel
    Venetian - Casino Area

It would be great if everyone could PM me with some additions for the list. I will keep editing this post to keep the list 'live' then as Froggitt suggests we could save it into a Google Map that everyone can access.

Oh, by the way, here's a list I found of wi-fi locations across Nevada:

    http://www.wi-fi-map.com/nevada.php

Maybe useful for people who are out and about and need internet access.

OK Ive made a start on this. Look at
    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&ll=36.124946,-115.169678&spn=0.017609,0.038452&z=15&msid=105863286002279699212.0004692e030c9f2196755

I was thinking.....maybe use it for more than wifi, eg adding on a different colour pin for restaurants, another colour pin for "things to do". I'll test it on the iPhone later too.

Looking good ! I actually made a start yesterday also. Not as detailed as yours yet but here's the link:

It's really handy being able to use my Ipod Touch and I so begrudge paying about $15 a day for wifi access (in fact I don't pay). Looks like we're on the right road, just need some help from our fellow posters with some wifi locations !

I'm not too sure if Sugar and Ice at the Wynn has Wifi but i do know for a fact that The Terrace Pointe Cafe in the Wynn does have it as i used it there on our last day.

hey everyone, this is probably a silly question,as I have booked with a travel agent will I still need to give over my credit card so they, the hotel can put a freeze on money??
If so this will be a problem for my parents who dont have a credit card and do not have enough money in their account to have the charge placed on hold???
This will also be the case with cash as they will need it, any suggestions?
Do you think the best option is to get a credit card in their name, like a second cardholder so the original one is in my name?
Sorry if this is all muddled just started to paninc TIA

    Hi,

A group of us are looking to go out to LV in October for a mates 40th birthday. A couple of us a regulars so we have a rough idea of what we want. We've done the big casinos before but we're looking to save a bit of money on the rooms this time.

We're thinking of Bills at the moment (cheap, great location and good reviews). I've had a look around but can't seem to find any promos for this hotel - do they do promos or are we better just to book directly?
