For any fans of Carlos Santana - he's signed a 2-year deal at Hard Rock to perform 36 shows a year...first run is May 27-June 14.

    Crikey.

Riviera bankruptcy likely, also Station Casinos.

    And Hooters.

I'd known about Tropicana and Terribles being in Chapter 11, ...and the whole MGM thing...but think I missed Trump

Not to make anyone panic (panic if Chapter 7!) because it's ultimately protection from creditors for purposes of reorganization and they're after...but it is pretty scary how quickly they're dropping...perhaps not surprising ultimately, but still.

Ah - that could be why I missed it...I wouldn't have been paying attention if it were the AC operations...so you're probably right - just saw it in one of the articles and was a bit 'I totally missed that'. :)

    Guys,

I want to book tickets to 2 shows specifically, for my stay in Vegas, namely Love and Tom Jones.

Is it worth sorting these out in the UK before flying or are there deals to be had if i hold out and get them when i arrive?

If its worth sorting them out over here what are reputable ticket companies?

    Thanks

Right, we've decided at the last minute to go to Vegas again this July:j I've priced flights this afternoon and the best deal i can find so far is with Expedia - £620 Belfast to Las Vegas via Newark with Continental. Recently we've went in June or December so i'm not familiar with flight costs for July. Is this a good price?

When we stayed there last year the pool was a mess. Dust and noise everyday. the Octavia tower construction and what ever it is they are building at the rear made it impossible to relax, they are right on top of you.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Not sure when you are going, but this was recently posted which includes a 25% discount for Love through April - assume they will update with later dates at some point.

Some have had luck in going to the box office on the day and asking about deals and getting tickets 50% off...not sure if you would want to hold out and try that.

I don't know about Tom Jones.

As far as booking in advance, book direct with the box office (online or by telephone) or through someone like goldstar.com who offer discounts and have been around for ages (though don't think I've ever seen Love or Tom Jones there)...probably best not to book through most other 3rd parties as chances are they will be more expensive than buying direct.

  • Throwing a curve-ball out there........

Was speaking to a work mate today who had done the Vegas thing and suggested securing your accommodation as a walk-in. You give any hotel address to get your travel visa thingy and you get the best deals on the day. She said there is no way you wouldn't get a room in Vegas cos of the size of the hotels and everything. Her and her partner got rooms in MGM for $13 a night this way.

Although this sounds amazing, and I trust the person totally, I'm not typically a lucky type lol so not mega confident with the idea, but thought I'd get opinions, if anyone wishes to give them.
