It is North of Wynn/Encore, but South of Riviera. Almost exactly opposite where the Stardust was. There is a Tix4tonite booth in the parking lot next door.
Oh, and IMHO the Frontier had to go, it was tired and dirty. Phil Ruffin, who has just bought TI from the MGM Mirage group is not renowned for spending money on his properties.0 -

The Bellagio FountainsFroggitt, yes, that's the place. I think the Frontier sign might still be up there.

We find Peppermill handy for that reason - have breakfast timed to be at the booth shortly before they open...works perfectly, and the staff at Peppermill have always said 'yes' when I've asked if we can leave our car in their lot for a bit.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

The Bellagio FountainsWe are there 24 April till 7 May, fly home on 8 May so it looks like a couple of meets could be possible. I think we could be tight for a date around 6/7 May that a few of us could make as some are arriving as others are leaving.
I am just on the verge of booking the Encore via cityandshow.com, despite their high cancellation charges. They quoted $297/£199 total for 2 nights inc tax in May. On their site it is $319/night + tax. The Palazzo for the same dates was $916/£640 for the 2 nights.
Anything I should be aware of with this site? I can't see how I could beat this rate.0 -

The piece of land is here..http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=36.133029,-115.165848&spn=0.001709,0.003487&t=h&z=19
The Frontier sign was there when we went in October and you can make out its shadow on the satellite photo.
Here is the demise of the Frontier...http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii297/brummiekid/?action=view¤t=demolicionenLasvegas-1.flv
I suspect when the present financial crisis eases, this plot will be worth a few bob and seems big enough to house a small "resort" type casino etc.

The Bellagio FountainsHmmm. I have now read the reviews on TA and am having second thoughts on the Encore. My main concerns are the distance from centre strip and also that it appears to be a problem getting taxis there.
I'm wondering if it is perhaps just too far north. I have no desire to visit Circus Circus or the Riviera and could see me gravitating towards centre strip as we would be using the hotel mainly to sleep rather than gamble or eat there. I was going to stay for 3 nights, but 3 nights may be too long in that location.
I also read that it is nigh on impossible to get a taxi there as there is nowhere for them to turn and they have to drive up to CC and turn there. This would be a big enough concern if we were moving to another hotel from the Encore, but we would be looking for a taxi to the airport for our return flight and imagine it would be quite stressful if there were no taxis to be had.
Oh dear, decisions decisions. We already have Paris booked for our first 7 nights.
Would appreciate any thoughts or advice.0
