    Thanks peeps.

I have a bit of a goal to stay at most of the nicer properties even if it's just for a couple of nights. Having stayed at the Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian and Palazzo, Wynn was next on my list, but the Encore opening made that the obvious choice.

The location I think we could just about live with, but the lack of taxis is a major concern. Not sure that one day'c car hire is an option and I had considered the shuttle, but again not wanting to be sitting on a shuttle doing the rounds and wondering when I will finally get to the airport. Walking to Wynn seems the preferred option.

We are now considering the Signature.......... However it's not the brand new 5* hotel I wanted to tick off my list.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your thoughts.

one thing to consider about the taxi situation is that if it is really an issue, and people complain I would bet that Wynn/Encore would sort something out with the taxi companies...since it's early days yet, it may well be resolved before you go...I cannot imagine that they would let a 5* hotel get knocked down on reviews due to poor taxi service.

I know I would be thinking exactly the same thing you are if I were in the situation...

Not sure if you are signed up for Wynn's Red Card, but my husband got the 3-night complimentary offer for Encore yesterday - only through January, but maybe more like it are to come in the next few months?

just a thought but might want to add to the info at the front about the location of the famous "Welcome.." sign, as its not really obvious where it is. (well it wasn't to me anyway)

    The Fremont street experience
Its south strip before you get to Mandalay Bay when driving northwards from the airport.....between the two carriageways.

    Signature is consistently excellent.

If you can afford it, treat yourself to a night at Skylofts

Signature also charges a compulsory extra $20 a day "resort fee"

This is for use of the gym, wifi in room, a newspaper and 2 bottles of water each day

just a bit extra to factor into costs
