The Bellagio FountainsWhere have you seen it for $89, I can only find over 100 but it maybe my dates are not $89
It was £89, not $89 and I think it was on Netflights.
Which sites have you been trying in case I've missed them?
Still open to suggestions of sites to try for a one night stay.0 -
The Bellagio Fountainsis virgin that bad.
i have booked with them as direct flight, but what do people think is it worth the extra hours to fly with another company? who would people suggest?what route
Yes! If you get an early flight from London its possible to arrive in Vegas before 2pm (around the same time as the Virgin flight arrives). Ok, you'll have to spend longer on the journey but if you're anything like me you won't sleep the night before anyway and will end up waiting around Gatwick for hours before your flight. There are early flights with United or AA around 8am and then connect Chicago and other places. It can also be £100 or more cheaper than the direct flight. For the sake of getting up a few hours later that's quite a bit of spending money.0 -
The Bellagio Fountainsi rarely ask questions but i've no doubt you guys will do me proud
Slight change of itinery for us means we don't need a 4x4 anymore! woohoo - get to have a more exciting car now!
I notice on CarHire3000 it lists a hire option as a 'Dodge Charger (or similar *eek*' - has anyone ever got one of these as a hire option in Vegas, or is it more likely to be 'similar'
Always wanted to drive one of these even if it won't be the top end one...
failing that, it's gonna be a convertible (but they look a bit naff to be honest -> 'Chrysler Sebring or similar')0 -
The other big plus with using US carriers is if an early flight goes tech there's always a later one to catch instead -If Virgin cancels you'll be waiting til the next day at best. Friends were in Vegas with VS when it snowed in December-got rebooked for 2 days later to fly home. Two days extra holidays sounds very nice but not if you have to be home for work or other commitments.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I once flew business into LA then caught a TED flight to Vegas . It took an extra 4 hours nearly to do this . I swore blind never again
In YOUR opinion- not everyone agrees.
advantages direct flight, free booze
disadvantages Economy seats with Virgin are some of the tightest for space, popular with stag groups, Y has the most inexperienced cabin crew (crew with seniority rarely choose to bid this route in economy ) , old planes, frequency once a day only.
For me the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages and I fly to the US often enough that I'm currently Delta Gold and aa Plat -two return flight with VS to Vegas was enough to cure me of flying with them to Vegas (although the non bucket & spade flights are far better)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Totatly with you I fly with united I am a premier card holder, I last flew with Virgin in 2002 and that was prem I swore the year before never to fly with them in coach, the wife went with them in coach to NY 2003 and the treatment she recieved on board was shocking (will not go in to details) since then we have flown MaxJet who were the best and United every other time. Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
The Secret GardenI'd like to point out that not all of us travel often enough to be Gold and Platinum members of different airlines.
I'm flying direct with Virgin next month, I agree that the planes aren't brilliant and for a 6 footer like myself the legroom is pretty poor but i'd still rather fly direct than changing planes.
We all have our different thoughts on this subject, lets just agree that its all personal opinions.
I don't care how I get there, just as long as I get to Vegas.

Funnily enough as a tall person you might do better on an indirect flight. That getting off and stretching your legs (and getting out into real air) is far nicer than nearly 10 hours in one go. Yes it's all subjective but I consistently pay less to fly indirect-which eventually equates to *more* Vegas
I wasn't knocking anyone choosing to fly direct-just pointing out that there *are* alternatives as another poster was claiming it is "the only" way to go ! Bit like saying there's only ONE choice of hotel in VegasI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

The Bellagio Fountainswe have flown MaxJet who were the bestThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
