Ages of children - didn't add mine!
17yo has moved out, fortunately. Then its 14, 6, 4, 1 (all girls) and a 4wk old boy.
I am currently (not at 7.20am though!) sorting out the cupboards/drawers etc. I have 2 bin bags from my room, making up newborn clothes and junk from my drawers (old make up and stuff), plus one bag from the kids toy boxes in the living room. Doing a chunk at a time, and its taken a short amount of time but spread over several days. A quick half hour to go through babys stuff and thats it. I have plenty to do, the 14yo's stuff (which by the nature of teens means this will be last!), the airing cupboard, OH's clothes, my clothes and the kids toy boxes in their room. Working out the cost of IKEA PAX storage solutions for the bedrooms too! I can heartily recommend IKEA for storage organisation!0 -
Well good morning everyone, and Happy New Year! I slept well and got up at a reasonable hour :-) Today's plans involve an all you can eat chinese, and a bit of tidying around the house - nothing too strenuous :-)0

Happy new year!
I sorted out my dd's (age 1) toys yesterday into storage boxes/containers/shelves so....soft toys, music toys, learning toys (shape sorters/balls/building bricks etc), entertainment toys (just push a button toys:rolleyes:), a shelf of books and a shelf of jigsaws/games. In her room I just need to box up her clothes into age groups (0-3m, 3-6m etc) and store those away;) and I want to sort her clothes into complete outfits on hangers.
I also made a start organising OH and my room.
My new routine/resolutions start tomorrow because I have one more day of indulgence at my MILs. I feel that this year I will make and stick to my reslutions because I am making them as detailed as possible...not just "lose weight, get organised" and I'm in it with all of you ladies
Thank you sarahc44 for posting your routines:T It is a great help to read suggestions like that and know that it works!
littlepinky84 I love your idea for a siggy do I'll add one to mine:T
One of the things that stops me from being organised is the amount of time I spend on the internet:o so I'm just going to stick to this one thread!
I've updated the members list on the first post....please tell me if I've missed anyone off.

Oh dear, I fear I've started off rather badly; I sent DS1 and 2 downstairs to watch the Wiggles DVD and have only just got up myself!
Still, DS1 and I went through the recipe books last night and have planned our meals for the next two weeks; Tesco order done; all boys wardrobes sorted so that I know EXACTLY what I've bought in the sales, and I've even gone through the cupboards in the kitchen and written down exactly what's in there so I dont' end up with another glut of tomato puree.
By the end of today I aim to have tidied up all their Christmas presents from the living room floor. That's Numberwang!0 -
Badly? You've sorted and planned and think thats a bad start?? Its still the holiday season, so you don't have to get up early!0

Can I join pls?
My DD1 is 11 in Feb and DD2 turned 9 at end of Nov. I finished my 15 hour job in Sept as it was so stressful and i'd be taking work home with me and my work collegue would ring me 4 or 5 times on my day off as our boss was awful! Anyway after 4 years of tears and snapping at my girls and my DH, we decided enough was enough and i left.
I go to college on a Tuesday (to study Horticulture) and i spend ages during the week trying to revise what i've learned and learn new latin names.
Anyway, i've always been organised but since Sept i'm not. I think i've wallowed a bit in self pity over my failed job. From today i want this to change, so this thread is going to be brilliant for me.
Are there any other people on here with just school aged children?0 -

I'd like to join too please! I have a 3.4 yo and baby due in April. I've been a SAHM for 2 years and things have gone to pot a bit since having morning sickness. That's out of the way now and I'm into the "can't be a*sed mode"
.
I need to get back into my cleaning routine, but am having to tweak things, as for one example, I find hoovering the whole house too much for one job, I'm having to do it over 2 days as I'm getting back ache a lot quicker these days.
Also need to get back to menu planning and will start by using everything out of my freezer first.
I also have a few clutter areas, nothing major, but I want to have a clear out b4 baby arrives or it'll never happen!
I'll have a think about what I want to achieve and post back in a day or 2. Am looking forward to this0 -
Morning all....Happy New Year!
Today hasn't started too badly - we've only just surfaced and had breakfast, so there's a little more to do. However, I've already planned what's for tea, started the dishwasher and spoken to parents, so not going too badly.
My DD is 4 and I've a baby due in March.
For the rest of today I'm going to work on tidying DDs bedroom - we've moved some furniture out and need to sort out toys into crates/storage. The plan is to decorate her room and buy new furniture before mid-February, but a lot of the old toys have to go....(when we moved she found all her outgrown toys and wanted to keep them with her - OK 6 months ago when we moved, but it's time for them to move!).
Oh yes, and I'll be doing the menu plan for the next 7 days.
Take care all
D

Girl least likely to - I'm in "can't be a*sed" mode too, with DH being off work for most of Dec I've really slipped and been getting him to do more than his fair share! When in April is your baby due? Mine is Tuesday 14th...
morganb - even in the course of a week you've still achieved a lot! Pat on the back for you lol
Ishtar - I've got a bedroom to sort out too! We moved in August since then have had a few week long visits from family, so DD is 19 months and in with us! Then since the last visitors we had at the end of Nov, the room has become a dumping ground for boxes that need sorting and stuff that needs getting rid of! We are going to ikea middle or of this month to buy a toddler bed so I need to sort the room out so DD can go in it!
kippers - Sounds like you are better off out of your old job! And studying horticulture! Fancy! I have been thinking of doing some studying with the OU or similar, maybe when new bubba is a year old or so, I should be organised by then!
Lalaladybird - I'm definitely with you on spending too much time on the internet, but then I can't do too much at once due to pregnancy. I think that if I say when DD has gone down for her afternoon nap, I will not go on till I've done the washing up, that will be a start! Oh and thanks for being our lovely challenge leader!!
And anyone else who's joined and I have replied to, a big hello and hope you are all looking forward to this year as much as I am!!!0
