Quidco £70 paid today. 9 months free broadband. Extremely impressed with O2 broadband service, as my exchange is not on the BT "access" (should that read constraint?) system. 48 Hours from placing the order to getting online with router delivered. True 8 Mbps as ordered. Quidco promise honored and overall very impressed.
  • My £70 also paid today...thanks to o2 for 10 months free broadband, and so far no complaints about the service or speed!!

    Hi

I want to sign up for the offer but I am not an O2 customer, but my gf is. Would I qualify for the £7.34pm deal if I signed up by giving my bank details as the recipient of the O2 home broadband and gave her phone number as the O2 number?

    Has somebody ever tried this?

    Many thanks

Will this only work if you live at the same address or will it be okay if you don't live together? thanks.

Fed up with VM after my discount finished and when I suggested I would move to 02 I got told 'fine heres your disconnection date'

I used to have a BT line so hopefully will not get charged a reconnection fee by BT. I undertand I have to have this in place before O2 will take me on (says O2)

On quidco it says its now £40 for the 'standard package' but also says o2 offer 3 months free

"As of the 1st April, O2 is offering free Broadband for the first three months when a customer purchases Premium or Pro packages during April and May 2009. </p></b>

<p>This is an unbelievable consumer offer that not only offers a £66 saving to a consumer but also puts O2 ahead of their competitors and highlights the continual growth of their Home Broadband product.</p>"

So does this mean you would not get the £40 if you went for their non standard package?

    Thanks

It does say the quidco deal is for their "standard package", (which doesn't get the 3 months free).

There are other cashback sites though, which don't specify the package you have to take, (eg same £40 on offer at topcashback)

EDIT: See post below #210 (9/4/09). Quidco deal now changed and cashback is for any home broadband package

    ThanksQuentin

Well finally bit the bullet and contacted BT. Although I have 2 old BT sockets they wanted to charge a reconnection fee so I told them I was moving from Virgin because I was prompted by a BT promotion flyer and they said ok its free.

However I had to sign upto a min 18month term and free evening calls+weekends worked out at 14.20/mth (not 11.25 advertised) because of the free connection. Line to be installed on 21/4/09.

Presumably I cannot get the 02 broadband initiated on line until my BT goes live?

Will be interested if Virgin call me now - I am pencilled in with them to disconnect on 22/4

    Cheers

I want to switch to mobile broadband. I already have an 02 phone contract so will get it for the £7.24 a month but i'm confused about the 3G limit. Does that mean that i can only use the internet for a few hours a day or can I still have my internet on all the time whilst i'm at home?

Which deal are you looking at?
If you're looking at a pay monthly contract, the cheapest MOBILE broadband I can see is £14.69 per month with a 3Gb allowance. This is reduced to £9.79 for the first 4 months if you sign up to a 24 month contract.
I can't see any mention of discounts for existing mobile phone customers who sign up to mobile broadband, like you do for home broadband.

Quidco now paying £70 cashback on any home o2 broadband package, plus there is the 3 months free offer from o2 on the premium and pro packages.

As Quentin has highlighted Quidco/3m makes o2 Premium a real good deal!

Just £1.51/m net cost over the 12m you'd be committed to o2 Premium for!

    http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/o2/t/3613877-fyi-new-subs-quidco-cashback-at-70-again-til.html

And if you haven't got an o2 mobile apply for an o2 PAYG SIM in time for month 4 (eg via Quidco) and top up £10/qtr (and claim 10% extra o2 Reward) and save £4.89/m on your o2 Premium sub
    + Qtrs 2/3/4 @ £10/qtr = £30 cash cost to topup
    - BB sub reduction for 9m x £4.89/m = £44.01 saved on subs
= £14.01 in pocket cash wise
+ have £30 credit + 10% reward = £33+ of PAYG credit on the o2 PAYG SIM to make calls/messages with!

(Not 100.00% accurate as VAT is due to go back up at end 2009; and the 10% credit is currently 10.0x% but correct to within a few pence.)
