Hello & welcome to the Crazies :rotfl:

Hi Lula and other Crazies ...
Yesterday I opened the wardrobe, shuddered at the mountain inside it and said "I don't need to buy anything till Christmas".... ooops, DH heard me (first time he's paid attention for about ten years ).

Just as well tbh because I didn't add up my non-work, non-underwear, non-shoes purchases in the M&S sales....:D

I'll reserve money for one jumper however because my favourite one died last winter .... just ONE though, honest!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Hi LulaHula and all

Congratulations to all still in this challenge, I no longer even look in shops I can't afford, but I spend more time in book shops and coffeeshops, perhaps that's not helping the weight issue though.

I popped into a charity shop just as they were putting out some lovely new donations and managed to get Oasis t-shirt £3.50, Fat Face top £4, M&S white crochet cardi £3.00 and autumnal coloured long cardi from East £3.50, total £14. All look unworn so I am really pleased with them, but only £22 left till Dec 31st...... Lula can you update me please. Thanks

Please can I join the 'lose one stone before Christmas' too? I have only one Christmassy piece of clothing, a pair of black velvet trousers, but can't even get the zip done up so will be in jeans again if I don't do something about it!!!

Off to update signature and find the Slimmers World stuff from years ago.

  • Good luck with the weight loss everyone, I'm hoping to shift half a stone too (although no actual plan formulated as yet!)

I have a £5 spend to declare - I just bought a yellow brocade coat from a charity shop, looks very vintage and unworn (although happens to be the evil primark so not sure how long it will last ).

Used some M&S vouchers I had last year to buy two pairs of leggings yesterday - one grey marl and one wet look black pair. My partner thinks the second set look ridiculous so they may be returned... I thought it was a good use of vouchers as I can now wear my summer dresses well into autumn. Plus means don't have to take any extra off my total:T! I put two packs of pants on the house account though!!:D

  • HI, well the diet got off to a good start first three days but then i stayed away from home for two nights at a hotel and ate loads. Nevertheless i still went to the gym last night. I now have today and tomorrow morning before I weigh in again. I hope i have at least stayed the same.
I am gad that I got the trip out of the way so i can focus a bit more now.
While away my friend gave me a belated birthday pressie which was a pretty necklace and bracelet.
I have my eye on a watch in the Avon catalogue for £12. I seem to be replacing buying clothes with buying accessories.
    How's everyone else doing?

:rotfl:yep, that's ^ exactly how I was doing . 4 pairs of unnecessary shoes & one unnecessary bag just to go with one of the unnecessary pairs of shoes :o. I am a reformed character now though. I decided that I just need to be more creative with what I do have. I have 2 choices; one is to carry on 'treating' myself with stuff I dont need & the other is to stop doing that & put more effort into paying off my debts. I need to reduce my DFD by a whole year so a couple of year s of not having the latest in accessories is definitely going to help. I'm going to a party tomorrow evening & was determined that I needed a new pair of black strappy heels ... it's an outdoor event so I've abstained & saved myself some cash :D.

NB I do still need a black bag & pair of black boots though. Perhaps I should reward myself with one if I lose half a stone & then the other when the other half is gone ;)

Happy New Clothes :) to Notjustamum & also to museumworker, sounds like some fab bargains courtesy of the great British Charity Shop :D. It's getting colder & I really need to get into my jeans so delighted that you too are joining us Notjustamum. I have been doing my yoga stretches every day & walking to local shops but havent yet ventured out on to my bike :o.

Hello to the_cat & well done on deciding to str-e-t-c-h that lovely birthday money :A. You could always join offcially next year ... I will definitely be here again

    Off to update totals ..

Haven't posted here for a while but yep.

I don't think I've spent too much on clothes this year but I honestly can't really remember and I've been bad at updating my total.

Skirt - £20 - but was given this money by a friend for exam result
    Jeans - £10
    Random primark spree - £10
Other random primark spree - £18?
    Top - £10 but had £4 of vouches so - £6.

I guess that means I've only spent £44 of my £100 - omg! I never thought I could spend so little but I just haven't wanted to spend so much this year.. maybe because I haven't had any money to spend!

I do really really want a new cardigan though - they have some lovely ones in New Look and West One - about £15 I think.. should I do it or not guys?? I've hardly spent anything this year and YES I could get one cheaper but I doubt it will last as long as if I get a new one I know I will live in it.

Can you update my total to £44/£100 please :)

  • Well good on diet today which is just as well as i am bursting out of my underwear, I have never been so fat. I made the mistake of buying size 14 clothes which were 'roomy' to see me through the summer and I have ended up padding them out.
Succumbed to the watch in Avon but the lady has said I can return it if I don't like it.
I had a good look through the Next directory on line. I find that a good way to look but not buy.
Mind you there was a lovely coat in there.
  • Lost 2lb this week, not much for a first week but not bad considering I only dieted for four days.
Tried the Next coat on, it made my bum look big so I actually feel like I have saved some money

I have lost 2lbs as well, not getting excited though as will probably 'find' them again by next monday .

I'm aiming for 8lb total loss in the next 7 weeks as I'll be going on a mini break at the end of October ...
