    Xmas Saver!
£1 to take off my total - bought a lovely balloon sleeve print top and a long sleeve cotton tunic top, both miss selfridge, from a car boot sale for £1 yesterday. My boyfriend immediately said the tunic was very slimming when I tried it on, so may have to live in it for the foreseeable (as weight seems to be going in the wrong direction!).

Wow thats an amazing bargain xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Still haven't bought anything yet!

Will try and get some clothes for my birthday and then hang on until december for the last £22

My word this challenge is difficult but it has made me think about how much I wasted on clothes I never wore before and to think long and hard about what to buy and whether I will wear it or not. Just had alittle think today about how to wear a long tunic top - buy some leggings from Primarni for a few £ and wear with shoes/boots already have with a bag already own.

Sold 4 bags on ebay today so v.pleased about this - decluttering away in this regard and having a good long think about what clothes I want and accessories instead of buying it for the sake of it as before

    Hey everyone,

My my, you are all so brilliant :D.

Happy New clothes to Jane-Liz :) & also to Museumworker for that bargainous new top :T.

Fedupandskint, isnt it odd/great how we now think about our clothes & make an effort to put new outfits together from what we already have.

I never even used to stop to consider that buying a new outfit for every new social occasion or event was utterly ridiculous . I feel so much more liberated & creative now than I ever used to. Could just be my age though :rotfl:

Off to update the totals again ....

Keep up the good work, we're almost in the last quarter now :j

Ahem. :o Have spent approx £200 in the last 2 weeks and am well and truly bust. :o And am planning to spend more. In my defence (sp) I have only spent £10 between Jan and now and I knew I would fall down now as Autumn/Winter is my favourite clothes spending time and as I think I was spending £1000 easily every year I am most pleased with myself. I know I have fallen very badly with regards to this thread but according to my own standards I have done very well. :o:D

Lula, thanks for starting this thread and please ban me:D I would like to join next year if you do it again. Unless you include shoes. Then I will have to track you down. :D

    sarah,

I think you have done brilliantly, considering your average spending when we started :D.

Well done for getting through the first 9 months with only a £10 spend :A

At your request I now BAN you for the rest of the year :p but ... can assure that :

    1) I will be back here again as from January 1st  &

    2) that no way are shoes or bags ever going to be included in my clothes challenge - perish the thought

Happy New Clothes by the way ;)

My top tip is to not look in the shops at all. If you don't know it's there, you can't pine after it. :D

I will be back on Jan 1st too, this thread had really made me think about clothes spending:D. I don't mind if shoes or bags are included, as long as it is renamed the £1000 crazy clothes challenge:D

Yes, this is pretty much how I've got through the year  I avoid clothes shops now. If I have to go to town with clothes shops I also buy a prepay, definite time parking ticket. I used to spend hours just browsing & then have to pay about £6 for parking. Paying up front solves this, NO WAY am I paying a fine .

Yay :j at least you now know where your weakness lies so can you plan ahead ;). I love the sound of the £1,000 challenge :rotfl:

fedupandskint - glad to hear that you too will be back next year :jI kind of feel obliged to do it until I am debt free :( . If I wasnt so dam lazy I would learn how to ebay instead

    Hi Everyone
It's been ages since I have posted, and bought any clothes!

I desparately needed some new tops. I bought 3 at £7 each but found that one of them came up as £2 on the till so rather than £21 I have spent £16 on new tops taking my total to £52.20

I agree with everyone else about this challenge making me think about how I spend my money on clothes.

Still working on losing some weight to get into those smaller clothes.:o
