Morning all,
hope a good week end was had by all
I was inundated with family but did find time to alter the pretty pink skirt from ebay; it was just a frumpy lenght on me but thanks to sewing machine it's now a fun & flirty knee length& I made a dress for DDs teddy from the offcut :A:D
Happy New Clothes tiny-courageous :j I'll edit your total in a minute.
Jane 2112 - you can indeed soup up your budget by ebaying old clothes
Hello to BitterAndTwisted  you sound like a girl I could get on with, apart form the heating, I cant bear to be cold & frosty indoors
I totally agree as regards top quality stuff from charity shops & ebay - I could never afford certain brand/labels from new. I managed to bag a fab cashmere cardi for £10 from local charity shop last year, it's gorgeous & I love it
Well done for all your achievements, it's one of the hardest things to wean yourself off a pleasurable habit. I do still like to have a splurge & cant quite get my head round 'used' t shirts yet but when I'm only spending a mximum of £ 5 on them I dont feel too bad & I recycle eveything, whether to charity shops, textile recycling or clothes for DDs bears
I like to have 'new' stuff quite regularly & doing this challenge has made me realise that I can have that & it doesnt need to be expensive or wasteful :j0 -
Hello all,
It's been sometime since I posted, been having dramas of late but hey thats life!! Considering I've had so many downs lately I'm quite suprised and impressed that I haven't had a massive splurge to make myself feel better. I've been taking stock of my finances, which has I suppose, helped as I've realised how close I am to being debt free which is making me want to achieve it now.
I've bought one thing I need to confess to-it was probably too expensive but I loved it and know it will last years-a maxi dress for those long summer days we're going to get!! at £40, should bring my current spending so far to £50.28
Thats all for now, keep up the hard work0 -

All going well here to with no clothes spends to update you on
Saw I lovely dress in M+S which I liked and then saw the price of £55 - so can't have it. Mind you would have probably not worn it more than once so thanks for the challenge keeping me on the straight and narrow!
Dreading spending anything out of the total to leave me short for the reat of the year. Will be popping about 20 items of clothing on ebay and keeping my fingers crossed to make a bit to spend on clothes and get more money neutral.
Have stopped looking in clothes shops as a result of this challenge so feel a bit sad about this but it makes me happpier to think about wearing all of the clothes unworn that need wearing first. I think I might have a wardrobe clear out this weekend and reorganise what I can give away, chuck out, reuse or wear and then see where that leaves me. Good idea! I will do this! :jfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

All good here, have been very good girl:D
You are shining example to us all :A
I really enjoyed my little splurge last week & would happily have another one this week, next & probably every weekbut I shall not give in to temptation.
Still cant seem to shift those pounds  & yes, my idea of putting all clothes I can wear on a rail is driving me bonkers
What I really need is the threat of one of you guys coming to my wardrobe & throwing out every item I cant fit into if I havent lost at least 10lbs by my holiday on 17th August which is now only 12 weeks away :eek::eek:
Enjoy your clear out fedupandskint0 -
Good Afternoon Everyone! I hope are all well and keeping your spending low low low low low - as Mr Flo Rida would say!
Not been on here for a while, mainly because I've not been buying any clothes - making do and mend I think is the phrase! But apart from my £2 spent on a top the other week, I now have a mere 74p to add to my tally! I had originally bought a new pair of jeans from M&S for £11.74. However! I forgot that I'd got a £10 M&S voucher coming from Valued Opinions and ironically it arrived on the day I bought the jeans! I also had a £1 M&S credit card reward voucher. So yesterday I took the jeans back got the money refunded to my card and then bought them again with my vouchers + 74p of my hard earned cash!
So I have to say I'm doing really well - very pleased with myself! My birthday's coming up so I might get some clothes, but then again, looking in my wardrobe, I think I can cope!!

Great Money Saving EffortHappy New Clothes & Happy New Dress to NO-BRAIN too
off to update totals now0 -
I finally cracked and spent money!
£15 on a top from New Look
£20 on a dress from Dotty Ps. Although the new dress is boobarific, with a black t-shirt underneath it will definitely be usable for work too, which makes me feel better.
