The Crazy £100 Clothes Challenge

Hi luxor4t,
I think the first page mentions most of the rules but just to reiterate I think the rules are basically:-
1) Goods purchased with vouchers/gift cards/money that have been given to you by other people don't count. This means you can't buy yourself a voucher and pay for clothes with it!!
2) Coats, shoes, accessories, swimwear, nightwear and underwear don't come off your allowance as these are 'things' that can't be worn on the high street on their own.
3) You can sell some of your existing clothes and use that money to purchase some more clothes which won't then come off your allowance.
4) People can give you presents that won't count.
So in my opinion the raincoat is a coat so won't count, the swimming costume wouldn't count because you wouldn't walk down the high street in it (!) and the denim skirt is a gift, so nothing is deducted from your allowance.
However, I'm not The Boss, so I may stand corrected on some points, I wait with baited breath.

I'm so pleased coats don't count! That means I made my first spend of this challenge today: a grand total of £4.94 for two t-shirts that I did really need. Being part of this challenge helped me walk past all the other things I might ordinarily have been tempted by! :j0

A nice shiny apple for the teacher me thinks.:A

Hi,
Re: walking down the street in a swimming costume, I'll let you into a secret but don't tell anybody. When I was younger (much, much younger) I had a pair of white tights which I could only now describe as white fishnets (!), I also had a brand new swimming costume, chocolate brown, with an attached skirt bit. Bearing in mind that this was in the days before lycra this cozzie tended to get baggy after a few wears, but nevertheless I thought I looked pretty good one day when I paired the white fishnets and chocolate brown cozzie and wanted to go to the village in them.
Thankfully my Dad caught me and stopped me and told me that not only was I not allowed up to the village I wasn't even allowed out of the house in them.
I was most put out.

You are all so good... I'd join in but I know I'd fail miserably! Clothes are the only thing I spend money on... so £100 a MONTH is more like it for me.
I did get a rather bargainous pair of jeans from DP today - they were £7 in the sale, so £6.30 after student discount... then I paid with a voucher. Score!0 -

Hello,
wow with bargainous skills like that you should def be on this challenge, what sort of student gets a £100 a month clothes allowance ?
mum2one - it's quite scary how I've changed since I started this - not me at all, may have an identity crisis by mid summer if I dont go in a clothes shop soon. Trouble is there are so many other things i need to buy0
