The Crazy £100 Clothes Challenge

I'm a long time lurker on MSE but never really posted. Always read and run!
this thread has inspired me! Every year I always say, as the wardrobe is bursting at its seams, "I really must stop buying clothes". My downfall has been catalogues, but not your ususal Littlewoods, Kays kind. Mine have been Boden, Fat Face, anything expensive where no one can see that you've bought the same £30 top in three different colours...
I am on a DMP so money is really tight and whilst I do miss not buying anything, I find that by not actually going to the shops in the first place helps and all the catalogues go unopened straight into the bin!
I have found a new hobby that gets me off thinking about shopping/clothes - knitting - I'm going to knit and sew my way through the year I think.
So 6 weeks into the year my £100 challenge starts here.
I presume the cost of wool doesnt count?, otherwise I'll be scuppered before I've started!

Aaahh so many new posts
cant keep up
& have to go collect DD from friends so will be back later to update all the totals & read through properly.
Detox has kinda halted as i realised I was feeling very 'spacey' & probably not fit to driveso ... one large coffee and a very tasty hobnob later I feel human again & no longer inclined to lie on the floor & cry because 'it's all too much'
. Hmmm thin & dangerous as off the planet mummy or chunkier but definitely safer as on the planet mummy
No contest really
bye for now

That doesn't sound good at all! Definitely best to stop if it's affecting you like that. Yay to hobnobs and their restorative qualities:DPay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

(I know I crashed out a couple of weeks ago but I am still lurking)
I have to have a full washing box and towering cities of clothes (the ones I actually bother wearing) so that I can shut my drawers and my wardrobe doors too (and I only have a washing box so that I can ignore the washing so that I can get to the bottom-ish of the piles of clothes that adorn my surfaces
Hmmm, time for a clear out??? As if I could part with my lovely things:o£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Have got Grazia in front of me - v dangerous as I know I'll see things I like/want. Took out a 3 month cheap subscription but when that ends think I'll avoid mags and try to stay away from shops.
Loving the 'shopping from your own wardrobe' concept and the idea of rotating every few months so you never get too bored.

How very selfish
I too have a clothesaholic friend, light years away from her own lbm & I just dont have the nerve to say :
" It has come to my attention that you have put on even more weight than me & you should therefore hand over all clothes that no longer fit you, immediately" :rotfl: .
Yes, I failed the detox on day 2I felt absolutely awful, just wanted to lie down, cry & sleep  . There you have it, proof that not feeding the body makes the mind very ill. I really couldnt have driven like that & I was utterly amazed that one cup of coffee & one hobnob & I could actually feel the headache fading & the energy streaming back into my body. Since then I've eaten some nuts & had a large salad with ham. Will just stick to cutting back on carbs & exercising from now on; that was too scary. In my opinion detox should only be done from bed.
Onwards ;
