  • Failte FD. So glad that someone is not calling me a freak lol for attending Gaelic class. My friends all think I am mad and I must admit it's a right eclectic crew that are attending the class but I am loving it. I am just in beginners and at the minute it is conversational gaelic we are learning. It intrigues me as it is such an old language and speaks to all the old rules. Think of CRanford or such like. FOr instance in Gaelic we would say 'there is a fever upon him' instead of 'he is sick'. It just tickles my fancy. THe tutor is really knowledgeable too so not only am I learning the language but am learning all about Scotland and its history. Fascinating:D Apparently we are doing pretty well and he reckons we will all do our Intermediate level 2 exam at some point:eek:

Well we had a mouse in the trap today :eek::eek:. I was screaming like a loony. KIds were laughing at me as I was crying and everything. Where is a man when you need one? Will no doubt be more of them so there will be more screaming fits tomorrow:o. You know not much scares me but for some reason these mice are really freaking me out lol

No money spent today except £1 each to the kids for juice at school. We all had a packed lunch.
I attended the gym tonight to meet the guy who delivers the active life in this area. He was lovely and I have my induction tomorrow night to learn how to use the machines. Might never be back on here lol as it just might kill me. I hope you are all well x

  • well I made it back. Been manic these last couple of days but only because I was managing to have a life for a wee change. THat is my new year resolution. I am going to get out and about more. No reason not to. No need to spend loads of money either.
Tuesday I had my induction at the gym and almost managed all the programme set for me:p. Going back tomorrow night to see if I can manage it all. Went for a half hour walk today during my lunch break so am managing my exercises as set in my active life programme. Still sticking to the healthy eating so am well on track to a healthier lifestyle. I feel so much better already to be honest but am looking forward to being able to walk/climb stairs etc without feeling as if I am going to die whilst doing it. :o Because I am doing gym etc through the active life programme I get my sessions for £2 a time which is fab. If I had to pay full price then I could not go.
Went to the pics on Tuesday to see 'it's complicated'. I really enjoyed it. I went with 3 friends and we had a right old laugh. On tuesdays it is only £3.95 each and I took juice with me so mega cheap night. I have not spent any money in work this week either as I have taken my healthy lunch in with me. Went to ASDA last night after my Gaelic class and bought 12 sticky buns and 8 burger buns and got the whole lot for 8p:j. Bargain !

No overpayments made unfortunately. No money as cc's all went onto DD this month and the dates are all over the place. I also bought my car tax so am happy with that. I have £150 to do me until I get paid next week.Sounds a lot but by the time I pay £30 school lunches and £30 petrol it really isn't.
Going for a nosey round the boards x

Hi MIT, I'm with you on the spending more time on yourself thing. I have the beginnings of what could almost be classed as a social life! I have at least 3 evenings out planned this year :rotfl:

I am well off my target too I think this month but you never know once I get the guts to add it up I could surprise myself.

    Hope alls well xxx

  • Hi penguin. I'm not too bothered by not overpaying anything tbh as this is the first month for ages that I am going to manage to get through without using my credit card. Good for you on the three nights out lol. My kids are older now so it is much easier for me. It used to be almost impossible for me to get a night out.

Only spent 95p today on a bottle of juice. Just really needed something nice to drink as water was just not doing it for me. I've managed to take my lunch in all week so again am pleased with that. I need to make a shopping list for this week as I will need to really budget what I spend. I have loads of cheese, tinned salmon and tuna for sandwiches and still plenty of bread in the freezer so am okay for lunches. Just need salad stuff to liven them up a bit. Kids have money for lunches. I used to get them packed lunches but was adding so much to my shopping bill that I stopped and went back to giving them the cash every day
. £30 a week though:eek:. I'll write my list after silent witness and go get it tomorrow. Hope you are all well xx

  • I'm depressed
I just updated my snowball as all my statements are in for next month's payments on my credit cards. I have put all the interest payments on and it is just so depressing. I paid way much more in interest than what has come off of my cards. Peeing me off.
Went to Morrisons today and spent £62 on food. I would be rich if we didn't eat:p but then so would we all be. Money is very tight this week but I will make it until the end which will be payday:j. I have all my cc's on direct debits now so no need to worry about paying them on time etc. Debt free date is still 2019 .
Going to visit my friend tomorrow as she lives about 30 miles away from the rest of us. 5 of us going and the plan was that my friend was making a big pot of chilli and we would have a nice afternoon chatting and catching up. ONe of the group decided that we should just go out for lunch . No discussion with anyone else! It's backfired though as 2 of my friends have said they were too skint and the girl we are visiting has said her time is too tight . I was going to go along with it because I was too embarrassed to say yet again that I had no spare money. Nice change for me to not be the one lol. I get peed off when folks don't consider others when making plans.

Got £6.50 this week again from CSA towards the arrears. I have paid it off of my sony card. I have overpaid my cards by a whole £13 this month lol but hey I haven't added anything so that's got to a good thing :D
I hope everyone is well x

  • Just been looking at my snowball. Had it as £230 per month towards cc's but am going to increase this to £300. This brings my dfd back to 2015 so that's a bit better. Don't feel just so bad with that. £300 should be manageable each month and if I can manage more than that will be a bonus.

Hi MIT, dont be too disheartened about the snowball. Use it as motivation to get rid of them so the interest is gone once and for all. One debt at a time.

Whats the first one to get rid of, is it the Sony card? xxx

  • Hi penguin. Am okay really I just feel as if I have been mugged when I realise the amount I am giving to these companies. SONY will definitely be the first one I will pay off as it has a ridiculous rate. I reckon I will go for the Barclaycard after that if it is still outstanding as it will be easy to get rid of and I will then be rid of 2 cards:j. The snowball advises SONY then Tesco but I reckon the mental boost of 2 cards going will be better for me. The snowball date for getting rid of both of these debts is about March 2012 but I would love to do it by the end of this year. Hard going but possible if I really put my mind to it. THat's with the snowball at £300 and not the £230 my minimums are at. I would need to pay about £430 a month to manage to get rid by end of year so I will try and go for that :rotfl:.

ANyway today I went out with some friends to visit another friend whose husband has been ill. It was a lovely day. They made us so welcome. I got a lift there and back so no costs or petrol. I didn't even offer it as I always drive and never take any money from anyone. Lunch was provided. so nice cheap day. well that was the plan BUT we stopped on the way home at the huge TESCO that is there ( we dont have one here) and I bought a couple of things :o. DS threw 1 of my slippers out with the recycling the other day ( I know , I know what the hell ) so I needed slippers. Bought ones with memory foam soles. WOwsa comfy comfy. MIght wear them to bed lol. Bought DD a shirt as she is really short of clothes just now. Bought wooden spoons as am always running out of them and a wok. I used to have one but it wasa right cheap one and wasn't really fit for purpose. £21 all in but I will pay it off on FRiday when I get my wages. I have a few days this month on higher rate pay as I was manager for a good few days, so that will cover it no bother. All items were essential to be honest so I do not feel guilty at all. M friends were buying nice candles etc which I just didn't even consider. My friend did buy me a really nice handwash that was on sale though :D. All in all a lovely lovely day and feeling nice and chilled after getting my knickers in a twist yesterday about interest rates etc. Hope everyone is well xx

  • Good evening. Spent £20 today on petrol but no other spends.I get paid on FRiday and am looking forward to it. Funny how we look forward to paying money to our debts lol I just live from month to month to make payments. Hmm not funny actually. All rather sad tbh. If I had no debt then my kids and I would have a great life and I feel so so guilty sometimes about getting us in this position. I must be pre mental or something as mood is not good today so am going to go and not talk sh*t. Hope you re ll well xx

  • Good evening. Feel better today but still not brilliant. I am going to do the race for life this year in memory of my Dad and my friend's mum's. My dad died a long time ago when I was a child but my friend's mums both died in the last 6 months. 5 of my girly crew will be taking part. WIll be a fun but mega sad day.Mixed emotions on that one. WIll need to keep up my keep fit regime though and get myself ready to do this. ONly 5k so should be fine.ONly spent £2 today on gym so am pleased with that. Am sore mind you. Went on the cross trainer and my plan says I should do 10 minutes on it at level 5. I managed 6 mins at level 1. Jeezo it is most definitely a form of torture. THe sweat was lashing off of me. Never mind I will be a babe soon :p
