  • Well here I am yet again. Have added to my debt and am scared to count it up. I did my best to keep Christmas to a minimum and I definately cut down on my spends but hey ho I still went over budget !! Going to get into it later today but need to go out now. Will join the grocery challenge etc etc and have a real bash at this this year. I'll update totals later. Happy new year to everyone. xx

  • Right big update on my life.
My mum is still really sick and can't get out of the house at all without either my brother or I being with her to take wheelchair. She has a bad lung disease which is degenerative and has very suddenly taken her independance from her. Such a shame. She can no longer drive or walk for any distance other than to the loo without needing oxygen. She needs a zimmer type thing with wheels to get about the house( with portable oxygen). She has carers morning and noon but either myself or my brother go in and make her evening meal. All very exhausting and limiting to us all but hey she's my mum and she did it for me for years. Also 2 of my friends lost their mothers this year so I just am glad to still have her here.

    Money wise............nightmare !!

My debt has increased to £15,586.00 . I really need to sort myself out this year or I will be in real trouble. I have enough income to cope ( just) but if I keep adding onto this debt mountain that I have then I will be b*ggered. This is only credit card debt. I also have 2 loans, a car loan and a mortgage. I owe Argos about £300 as well but am only going to concentrate on the CC debt as everything else will take care of itself.

Told my ex to forget the maintenance as it was only £6.50 per week and tbh I just can't be bothered begging for scraps any more so he can shove it up his proverbials for the moment.

Today I have paid £117.30 to CC's ( could have bought something nice with that ) I have now got all except one onto direct debit for the minimum payments and I will concentrate on the SONY card as it is the one with silly percent on it.

Feeling all motivated now. Started grocery challenge this month too. I am allowing £250 for myself an 2 kids to start off with and spent £22.51 today. I should have plenty of food until next weekend so hopefully no more spends until then. I'm going to spend the day catching up on here and will start doing some surveys etc again. xx

  • So sorry to hear about your Mum. With that family and debt to sort out then I know itll be a tough battle but one you can still win. Just think each penny counts. Im not too happy with my 09 efforts but at least I did make progress. When my Mum was ill at the end of 08 and start of 09 I added 2k to the debt .

Good luck with the GC XX

  • Quick update on spends today. Only spent £0.77 on pack of sweets for DD. Been a manic day as my mum is getting a new kitchen started on Friday and just had to get it all packed away today. I then came home for a nice rest and my neighbour called me over for a glass of wine!! I could have seen it far enough but manners made me go lol. Just getting half an hour now before I go to bed. Still on leave tomorrow but back to work on Tuesday
