  • Thanks fro the encouraging words guys. I will try that tip on the trousers and see if it works. Otherwise it will be cheapie ones from ASDA at the weekend. Welcome Green by nature and yes it is so bl00dy annoying lol. My biggest problem with the maintenace is that I bought windows and doors and the maintenance was paying for them. Now that it has stopped I have had to find the money elsewhere. I'm obviously not starving yet mind you as I am still the size of a house :rotfl:.
Was at my friend's tonight and her hubby had made 3 different curries. I tried 2 of them :o. Had had no dinner so I feel vindicated. They were fabulous.
I am on temporary duties next week I will be in charge of around 60 staff :eek:. On one hand I cannot wait as I love a challenge ( and there will be some extra cash in it for me) and on the other hand I am terrified lol. I am sure I will be okay. If not I will come on here and vent my spleen :rotfl:. Shattered now and off to bed. Hope everyone is well xx

  • Good morning:D. THe sun is shining at last in Scotland. Feels like it has been raining for weeks. Maybe it feels like that cos it has been raining for weeks . Washing is ready to go out on the line, just about to put another load in the machine.
Hey I discovered that whilst doing the temporary duties I will get about £70 extra per week. THat's not to be sniffed at.I will be doing it for about 2 weeks so can put that towards Christmas or use it for my 100 day challenge. I haven't decided yet. I have the grand total of £55 to get my shopping, petrol and pay £30 school lunches this week . Now how the hell am I going to do that!!!
Going to make a list of the food I have in and only buy exactly what I need. No treats for us this week I'm afraid. KIds will be less than happy but hey I can't help it.
HAve a good day everyone. Catch you all later x

  • Good morning.Another sunny day here in Scotland so even more washing out on the line :D. I love when I can get the washing out as it is so rare that I can. £1.35 on scratches today so that's good.

DD and I are going to cut the grass today as it is getting way too long. Going to my mum's for dinner so that's good.
I spent £33 on shopping yesterday and that included a few treats. Kids have agreed to packed lunches this week as they know I have no money and I have £20 left for petrol. Going to tackle the ironing this morning and do the garden when DD manages to haul her !!! out of bed . I was really fed up last night due to the major skintness but I am sure there are many people worse off than me. Dunno about everyone else but I feel as if I am constantly saying no to everyone. I say no to the kids when they want someting or need money to go somewhere. I say no to my friends when they are going out as I can't afford to join them. I say no in work when they are going out as I can't afford to join them . I'm peed off with it to be honest. I work as hard as I can just to run on the spot.
Never mind I could be running as hard as I can and going backwards so at least I'm not doing that at the minute. I'm feeling very frustrated. I want a life !!

  • Wow! What a week! I will never again say that the managers run about doing nothing as I have been run off my feet this week. I have loved it mind you and it has only made me more determined to go for my promotion.
I have been quite bad on the spending front though. I joined Historic Scotland yesterday. I got a discount as a friend introduced me so I got a year's membership for £35. The event I was at yesterday would have cost £13.50 anyway and we go quite often to the various castles around us so it will be well worth the cost.

We had a couple of takeaways during the week because on top of doing the managers job my mum was in hospital with a bad chest infection. I then bought lots of shopping as the cupboards fridge and freezer were bare. Finally yesterday I bought myself a top and cardigan as I am so short of clothes just now it is becoming embarrassing. All in all I have added around £195 to my cc this week:eek:. I reckon I need an income boost of about £200 per month just to get by and to keep us reasonably dressed.

CSA have written to me with regards to ex. They are starting court proceedings ASAP and they will be looking to carry out all sorts of things. i.e bank account arrestement, bailiffs, taking driving license away, possible inprisonment :D ( I vote that one :rotfl:) . No doubt he will phone and offer to pay at £5 per week and it will be accepted lol.
Going to do some housework now as house is totally minging. Hopefully catch up later xx

  • I am the same KP. AS soon as my eye is off the ball and I am concentrating on something else then the spending goes awry. Never mind I had a no spend day today.
Have found out that my DS is being bullied at his new school. I am so angry I want to beat the wee boy up lol and I am never violent. He begged me not to call the school but luckily they called me as a teaching assistant had already reported it to his pastoral care worker. My mum spoke to his teacher though as when she called here I was in the shower and missed the call. I will call and speak to her tomorrow and see what the course of action is going to be.THis boy was removed from 2primary schools so is obviously a problem child. Why do the decent kids have to put up with this carp? It annoys me hugely. I hope everyone is well xx

  • Hi all. I have not been on here for ages!!
Been a mad few weeks in fact possibly the worst 4 weeks of my life so far and none of it to do with debt. My mum has been really really ill. She was in hospital for 4 weeks with pneumonia. Bad enough having that but she has a chronic lung disease and tbh 3 weeks ago I was planningthe funeral as things were so bad. She is home now but consultant has told us he has only let her home so that she doesn't catch another infection.. It's a bad day when folks need to come home to stop an infection. During the time she was in hospital my best friend for over 30 years' mum was diagnosed with cancer and before my mum got out she was dead. We jsut buried one of my other best friend's mums 3 months ago and this was just horrendous. I haven't cried so much in years. Anyway , onward and upward now. Still ots of time needed with my mum but I am glad to do it as I am just so glad she is still with us.

None of this has helped the money saving lol. I have added nearly £300 to my debt:mad:. Got a new assessment from the CSA which will help .......NOT !! £6.50 per week I am to get for 2 kids. What a difference that will make to us :rotfl:.
I've started buying for Christmas but will get the kids their main gifts from Argos over 6 months interest free as usual. I just set up a direct debit for the 6 months and pay no interest so it is fine. I have already warned them that I am cutting down this year on my spending as I just have no spare money.
Well it's good to be back and I will be here much more. I hope everyone is doing well. Take care xx

  • hi. I have decided that I am just going to pay minimums to cc's until after Christmas. Not going to give myself the stress of trying to pay them off and do Christmas as well. I will get right back on track in the new year. I have about £100 in stamps for Morrisons and about £120 in savings for nights out etc so hopefully won't need too much more other than for pressies. THe kids are being great and haven't asked for much so that is great and I will be cutting right down with everyone else . I have already bought loads of chocolates and biscuits for friends and family and the kids and I are going to make home made sweets again this year.I doubt I am going to end the year with much less debt than when I started lol. I just found a note of my owed to credit cards last January and it was £14,833.65 lol so no big differences. At least it has gone down a little bit :rotfl:.Oh well:rolleyes:
