PM'd "sent you a Private Message" :cool::)0 -
Did yours mention keeping you on "file" for any other posts?
If there are other posts, you have to re apply each time - unless it is because they dont have enough people passing the interviews in which case they will come back to the wiat list of folk who pass the test but dont score the higher mark.
I dont think (but dont assume I am "right") they cross reference any jobs.. I did a test of one in November, and the same test set by the same people for another role 2 weeks later.. really they could have just put me forward based on previous history!0 -
"However, as you met the minimum standard,
should any further vacancies arise for this exercise within
six months from the date of this notification you may be
invited to an interview, although we cannot guarentee this"
Thanks for clearing that up for me I just assumed that this meant I could be invited to interview if any other vacancies come up..0 -

I would consider asking for feedback on your OCAT - if they give it, you can review any errors you may have made, and thus boost your scores if you have to sit the test again (I did it twice in 2 weeks!).. at least next time you have a better understanding of what the test involves and therefore a better chance of performing well and to a higher standard.:o
I wanted to know my score as I found mine out for a previous vacancy but it says at bottom that they are unable to give feedback on this exercise or words to that effect.:(0 -

I also got a few weeks notice of start, and a promise of an offer letter etc "before" commencing work which seems a bit of a rarity!
Those of you still "hanging on" and others just starting, persevere and hopefully you will get there in the end.
:j:j:j:beer:EXCELLENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beer::j:j:j
Well done at last. It pays not to give up. ENJOY0 -
IRC65238 - DECISION MAKER BIRMINGHAM - ** UPDATE **
Ok so they sent me an automated email saying i met the minimum standard BUT they raised the pass mark due to the volume of candidates and I HAVENT been called for an interview - what a bloody joke!
The results were meant to come out last week - so essentially i passed last week but they realised how many other people passed on the standard scores and some 3000 people applying for 25 vacancies - they raised the pass mark - leading to a lot of people who had 'passed' on the basis of what they were told at the start !! Argggh it's so frustrating to hear this!!
Those that have an interview coming up, congrats and i wish you the very best!!
Out of curiosity where did you hear that there were 3000 applicants? I was told by DWP HR that 1800 people had applied and there was 25 permanent roles available.
Do you know what the minimum pass mark was compared to the raised pass mark for the online OCAT test, my email mentioned nothing other than I had successfully passed the test, it went on to say interviews were originally scheduled for 03/03/10 and were now to be rescheduled due to the online test results being delayed and they would e-mail me again with the details.
Were you aware of the pass mark before you took the online test, or did the DWP advise that you'd passed the online test already and have only this week changed the pass marks to accomodate the amount of applicants who successfully reached the minimum pass mark, I am a little confused from your post.
Thanks for your good wishes, I really need a full time job, I have now been unemployed since July 2009, so fingers, legs and everything else crossed too lol.

It's great to hear there still some good news to be handed out from the DWP.
Congratulations, I hope the role has been worth the wait and is everything you expect and more.
BTW, thanks for your posts on here, they have been extremely helpful to myself and I'm quite sure quite a few others on this thread too.

Another amusing thing I noticed was yet ANOTHER spelling mistake on their email, do these people not use spell check?!!
Sorry to hear you were unsuccessful for IRC65328. Are you on any waiting list for this exercise? My e-mail for this test said:
It is with pleasure that I can inform you that you have successfully passed the test. Congratulations!
I am now waiting to hear about an interview date.
If I ever get all the way through the DWP recruitment process and actually get a job with the DWP, I'll mention they need training on how to use their spell checker's lol
