It would probably take a Freedom Of information Request to find out, then they could always refuse on the grounds of "National Security"0

Hi
I applied for IRC64946 (DWP Project Posts) and got the automated email acknowledgment receipt on the 31st December 2009. The job advert gave a closing date for applications of 6/1/2010 but no dates as to when on-line testing / interviews were being held.
Has anybody else applied for the above posts - and heard anything yet?
Thanks
Francis0 -
From what my JCP told me on Friday - there is now a complete freeze on recruitment, and those that have got in on contracts are out as of June - only the perm staff are to remain. That's what I got told in North Staffs, anyway.0

I would love to think that it will have some impact but the cynic in me says a lower grade minion will mean it never reaches her desk and will be filed. After all would they want this going public in the run up to an election with all parties looking to cut costs.
On reflection copying into David Cameron may be more fruitful!
I am of the same opinion about reaching her desk!! but have copied my local MP as well, who has responded previously, so will post any response I have0 -

I used to contribute to this thread a lot until I finally got a job off them last August. Having worked there 6 months, all I can say is if they get rid of all the temps in June, we will collapse. Madder business decisions have been made so I can't say whether it will happen or not. Just that if it does, it will be a very stupid thing to do.:idea:0 -
Having been on a waiting list (IRC 62668) since November I decided to give Shared Services a call on 13th January to find out what was happening. Initially spoke to a girl who said that London wasn't the area she covered so put me onto a chap who took the details and said he would call back.
Arrived home later that day to find the following message on my answerphone. "I HAVE LOOKED INTO YOUR CASE AND CAN SAY THAT YOU WILL DEFINITELY RECEIVE A START DATE BY THE END OF THE MONTH OR AT WORST THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY." Excellent I thought and subsequently turned down two ther jobs.
Imagine my surprise when I then received one of their "Sorry no more jobs at the moment" emails. I immediately contacted Newcastle and explained that I had already receievd confirmation that I would be starting work" You should never have been told that" they said. "But I have" I said "and it sure sounds like a job offer to me." "We will need to investigate" they said - and are.
If they should come back and say there is no job it will be a case of straight down to the Solicitors office as I am damned if I will let this go especially as I still have their confirmation call on tape!
Will keep you posted on the outcome.0 -

For those on this IRC, I got my "success at Interview" letter today, as did another candidate.. usual blurb.. "undertaking pre recruitment checks" and so on..
maybe will get a look in this time!0 -
What is the general concensus about what will happen to all these non-existant jobs - if the Tories win the election ?0

Hope you do, and aren't left in limbo like the rest of us.0
