Same here. Just got the notification that I'm merit listed for IRC62668 (London).
And so, the job hunt goes on.Since Maggie Thatch, and "On Your Bike" Tebbit, there is apparently no such thing, but if you have such a rare jewel, keep hold of it and good on you. Just be a little more understanding of those less fortunate than yourself
Bang on mate. And such is the intelligence of the great British public, it looks like we're going to combat this horrible economic climate by electing the same bunch of vermin all over again. How soon we forget.
I'd join the ranks of those threatening to emigrate, but to be honest I'm too fond of this country to just give in and hand it over to the vandal squad without a fight.0 -

problem is they are ALL vermin, and none of the three main parties, or the others come to think of it are any better. If there was a none of the above box on the ballot paper guess which would win...........................0 -

Well, in the end, someone is going to get elected. I don't want to hijack the thread into a party politics thing, but despite how dark things might look at the moment, and taking aside the obvious disappointments, I still think the facts suggest that the last 12 years have seen a vastly greater investment in the kind of spending that affects an ordinary (not rich, not city worker, not investor) person like me than you'll ever see under Jellyfish Cameron and his bunch.
Of course, if you happen to be a stockbroker, or heir to some large estate .. then your mileage may vary.0 -
I am the one though that feels terrible about leaving due to the costs that I incurred through the hotel and travel expenses for the training.
I wouldn't feel "terrible" about anything; after seeing some of the blatant squandering of money on deadlegs or, for example, interpreters travelling 100 miles for somebody to sign on etc that I have witnessed what they have given you is a drop in the ocean.
When I handed my notice in my boss wanted me to leave that very day; only sympathy for my colleagues made me stay on a couple of weeks. I have not been replaced (and neither has someone on my team who left for another office several weeks before). I can't work out how the workload has been absorbed.0 -
Remember..........unemployment is going down!!!
I find the recent "unemployment down" figures quite interesting; some of you in Job Centres may know what FJF is.
I don't think that it's any coincidence that loads of 18-24s have just started these jobs (placed about 20 of them myself) and the jobless total goes down ever so slightly.
Cynical.....moi?0 -

To put things back on track, losers here will be hard pressed frontline JC+ staff trying to give a good service and deal with people in a fair manner due to cutbacks which severely impact on their ability to do the job, the people affected are usually AA to EO grades that bear the brunt of cuts, just the grades that these exercises were meant to boost. If the ministers have got it wrong, and unemployment continues to rise, those left will be doing the equivalent of bailing out the Titanic with a sieve imho. Meanwhile the lists quietly expire, and if the Ministers have got it wrong, more public money will be wasted on another recruitment panic.0 -

How sad. No, in fact, you sound like a vindictive loser.
