Please don't do it, its not worth the risk and gives the department a bad name.
That was what I was about to post earlier this evening! You can use it out of the 9 - 5 working hours for personal use though (not including tea breaks).
@Jamie1210: I had the same experience with Manpower (different company but they do interviews for the DWP too) and they called me up to confirm my interview attendance. I reckon they just double check things over not to waste resources (both yours and theirs).0 -

And I def wouldn't be using it to log onto a forum, you're lucky the red lights weren;t flashing, certain sites you'd get away with saying you were doing a job search on behalf of a customer, but I don' think this forum would come into that category!0 -
Last Wednesday, after a wait of 7 months I was offered the Administrative Officer position in Colchester to start in January, which was full time. I was ecstatic at the time as I was out of work since July. However, after it sunk in the job maybe difficult to do fulltime due to family circumstances. My father died last year and he used to care for my mentally handicap sister with my mother. My mother is not very well at the moment and is due to have surgery next year. On some days I care for my sister and I did my previous job part time.
Will the DWP let me undertake the position part time (three or three and half days a week) instead of full time in view of these circumstances. I really want to work at the DWP and do not want to jeopordise my chances. Can anyone advise me please?
Thanks,

Argh, I'm going more than a little bit insane here. I had my letter saying I was successful on 7th October for IRC 61880 (after having my interview in August), and I know my referees received and completed the references more than 3 weeks ago but I've heard nothing since. I've rang 3 numbers I've found on here and the one on my letter but no answer or automated message or voicemail. How am I meant to fid out where I am on the list if I can't get through to anyone?
Also, people keep mentioning a CRB check, we filled in a Disclosure Scotland form during the interview which I got back about2 months ago, but nothing about a CRB, I assumed it was the same thing?
Is there anyone out ther wh applied for IRC61880 (Coventry) who's actually got a job yet?
Okay 61880ers i've spoken to the folk in charge of recruitment at Cov & Warwick JobCentrPlus this week and....
They have apparently offered positions in the Coventry Contact Centre to 5 people so far, and that is liable to be it until January 2010 unless any one of those people refuses the position.. As far as they are aware they will not be making any further offers until into January 2010 at the earliest, and even then they have no idea of the numbers they need cos they basically are so short of space in the JCP's that they have no room to put any customer facing AO's at any of the Coventry & Warwickshire Jobcentres except for Coventry!!!
It didn't sound promising to say the least sorry people! I suspect they simply over-recruited, thinking the recession was gonna bite harder and unemployment hit 3million by the end of the year, and it hasn't. Reading between the lines it looks like they just don't need the bodies on the frontline anymore..
I'll find out more Monday when I have another appointment booked with my advisor who was gonna do some sniffing about for me and see what is happening..0 -
Had a message left today on my home answerphone regarding a Band C post at the jobcentre of my first choice - unfortunately by the time I got home I had missed the lady who phoned and have to phone back tomorrow. At the time she phoned I was in a meeting and had switched my mobile off so was unable to receive any messages. Dilemma......... I started another temporary post 4 weeks ago which has potential but I have a few doubts about it - on the way to work this morning I thought if I get the phone call today for my first choice I would be daft not to accept. So big decisions to be made..... just wondering if any of the posters who have been in post for a little while are still happy with their EO roles. I know it has to e my decision but would welcome your thoughts.....0

Thank you! That's really rubbish news, but it's so nice to just hear anything! I suppose it's still worth finding out where I am on the list though.0

Well today i applied for a band C job (IRC 64366). It was meant to go live on Monday but thats it just went on today. Its specific to the Fife area so if im successful i'll only be putting down my local office ( i love it here so far and its really handy with childcare etc being local too).
I was amazed how much easier it is to apply once ur already working with the dwp. I logged onto RM to check if it was live yet, it was, so i clicked "apply now" expecting to have to go thru the whole application thing as before, but all i had to do was confirm that the details they had were correct then click "submit"...easy peasy. Im guessing from that, that i should def get at least an interview so wish me luck!! Interviews are scheduled for the 17th of December for successful applicants....so plenty time to prepare0 -
