  • Hi all,

Got my confirmation letter today for EO position saying that I will be a band C personal advisor. I have researched this role and all seems good but wondered if anyone here actually is a personal advisor or knows anything more about that role that they could share from experience?

    Thanks,
    Amy

I think I am going to ask something that has been asked time and time again, but I can't seem to find the answer - so apologies.

I applied for a A.O job and received a phone call yesterday to say that I have been successful for an assessment which will be held next week.
From what I have read on their website it's numerical and written.

Could someone please tell me a bit more about what will happen at the assessment and how long they give you etc... I'm not very good in test situations my brain turns to mush:rotfl:
Then if successful what is involved at the interview stage.

I have also read a bit about how long some of you guys have been waiting to be offered a role and start date...I'm now starting to wonder if I should even bother going for it, it's contract until November 2010.

Any advice gladly welcome - thank you.
    Hi Bubba
Have you not received an email explaining the format? :D

CONGRATS TO SHOBS, AMY & RICHWORCS
All the very best of Luck x
  • Haha oh I despair of DWP a little bit.

My letter arrived today confirming my start date etc for Norwich, but another letter arrived also confirming my appointment for a jobcentre in Dundee!

How strange, at least I can laugh at their mistakes now I have a job in place!

By the way, for the rest of you who have started recently, did you still phone the person it tells you to in order to confirm you accept the offer of employment, even though they phoned you to check before sending the letter?

Argh, I'm going more than a little bit insane here. I had my letter saying I was successful on 7th October for IRC 61880 (after having my interview in August), and I know my referees received and completed the references more than 3 weeks ago but I've heard nothing since. I've rang 3 numbers I've found on here and the one on my letter but no answer or automated message or voicemail. How am I meant to fid out where I am on the list if I can't get through to anyone?

Also, people keep mentioning a CRB check, we filled in a Disclosure Scotland form during the interview which I got back about2 months ago, but nothing about a CRB, I assumed it was the same thing?

Is there anyone out ther wh applied for IRC61880 (Coventry) who's actually got a job yet?

    Hi Bexy
I'm Shropshire, but the same procedure applies - I had my letter about same time as you, and also crb check ages ago (yes, this is the Disclosure). I was told we would hear end Nov but I know from other listings on here for 61880 that people are just now being posted....several have had their calls this week. If you email this address. they will be able to tell you where you are placed on the waiting list......we all seem to be on the list. I am something like 52nd but know they are already down in the 15's......hope this helps.

  • hi Bexy, I am also waiting for IRC 61880 and had my CRB check (disclosure scotland) back on the 8th August. I also received a letter about self employment and references were sent around the 25th august. I have since phoned up and was told all my checks were cleared but have not heard anything since. I believe from information on here that if you have an employment history for the last 3 years it is checked with HMRC and your references are not contacted. There are two others on this site that are also waiting on this IRC and as far as I know none of us have been contacted yet.

CONGRATULATIONS to all who have received "The Call" this week :j
