Do all new employees at JC+ have training? It's just that nothing was mentioned on the phone. All she said was that I am to go to my office at 9.30a.m and ask for the manager.

Last night I lay awake worrying that I had got the details wrong on the phone lol. First she said I was placed in Peterborough, then Wisbech....Do u think they will send a letter out to me confirming the details? If not what should I do to make sure I have everything down correctly?

    Hi f.dennis

    Congratulations to you.

I have also been told to go to the office (this Monday) at 09:30 and report to a named person (probably the manager) and then on Tuesday I have to go somewhere else for training. I have not received anything in writing to confirm this!

I haven't actually been told what my role is, and I have been worrrying about that!!

Can someone enlighten me as to what roles EO's generally perform in JC+ please?

    Is your role EO f.dennis?

    Jx
  • congratulations to everyone who had the call yesterday, a great start to the weekend!

Thando, you are giving me a bit of hope!
Im waiting for the IRC60076 so to read that you have had a response from it after nearly 6 months of waiting is good news.
Did you pester them loads or did it come out of the blue?

That would be pretty much impossible ,there are hundreds of different roles, where have you been placed? If you tell us we might be able to give you an idea.

Actually you didn't specify, you said JC+, Jobcentre Plus is made up of three different customer areas, Contact Centres where intitial claim and benefit queries are made (as of this month), Benefit Delivery Centres where benefits are processed and Jobcentres where face to face contact with customers take place.

If you're in a jobcentre then in all likelihood you'll be an advisor, you could specialise in new claims where you set up a Jobseekers agreement and inform people of thier responsbilities etc or a new Deal advisor specialising in longer term unemployed and helping them back to work or a Lone Parent Advisor or a Restart Advisor, different Jobcentres organise their advising in different ways so these are just examples.

    Thanks Sam

I didn't realise that so I do apologise...As far as I know I am in a JC, and that is where I have to go on my first day so I would guess that is where I will be based...

Hopefully I will find out tomorrow what my role is and I will let you all know...wish me luck please...
